Welcome, VLWABC!
[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia, VLWABC! I'm Royal Autumn Crest, and I've been assigned as your mentor. All new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.
You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.
If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.
Again, welcome to Wikipedia! Royal Autumn Crest (talk) 01:31, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Please use caution when adding categories to BLP's
[edit]Biographies of living persons (BLP) have stricter rules than other articles. You added the following categories to the article for Clay Higgins:
American anti-abortion activists
American anti-same-sex-marriage activists
American conspiracy theorists
American critics of Islam
Domestic violence in the United States
There are serious problems with these additions. The article says only that Higgins is against abortion. Holding an opinion is not the same as being an "activist". The category is a gross overstatement of the information in the article.
The exact same serious problem obtains for adding "anti-same-sex-marriage activists" to the article. He isn't an activist; he holds an opinion.
The article presents only a single instance of spreading conspiratorial commentary; that doesn't make him an "American conspiracy theorist".
He is also not an "American critic of Islam". The article contains only one mention of Islam that he posted on Facebook. That doesn't rise to the level of being a notable american critic of islam, only that he expressed criticism only once, as cited in the article.
Lastly, the most egregious of them all "Domestic violence in the United States". The article states very clearly that his first wife alleged that he put a gun to her head, which Higgins denied. That's nowhere near the threshold to add him to the domestic violence category, as there's simply no evidence to support it, only 'he said/she said'. That addition could be considered defamatory by Higgins, which puts the encyclopedia at risk.
Please use great care in adding categories to biographies of living persons. Please familiarize yourself with WP:BLP.
Separately, I see that you created a category for Clay Higgins, and added the articles for the various tenures he has held office, among other things. I believe you're going about it backwards. Those categories could be added to Higgin's article; he's not notable enough to have a category on its own. Only particularly notable people - notable beyond simply having served a term in office that is otherwise non-remarkable - have their own categories, for example, Nancy Pelosi. I'd recommend not creating new categories for people; add categories to the person's article, at least ones that are not potentially defamatory. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 23:12, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- OK I was not trying to defame, my bad VLWABC (talk) 23:25, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- I wasn't accusing you of intentional defamation; it's just the appearance of it alone can be a serious problem for the encyclopedia. cheers. anastrophe, an editor he is. 23:31, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Jared Fogle
[edit]
A tag has been placed on Category:Jared Fogle indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 03:00, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
Source verification
[edit]With this edit, you introduced this reference:
- <ref>{{cite journal |last=Baumgartner |first=Jody C. |title=Humor, Politics, and the Public Perception of Presidents |journal=Presidential Studies Quarterly |year=2006}}</ref>.
I can't verify it. I have searched the journal and his bibliography and don't find it. Where did you find it? Please provide a URL if possible. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 15:08, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- I will in a bit, I'll get to it as soon as I can. VLWABC (talk) 15:40, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- Any luck yet? If ChatGPT helped with that content, it may have hallucinated/fabricated that source. AI will do that. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 21:11, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- I just removed it just to be on the safe side VLWABC (talk) 21:23, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- it appears that the same issue occurred on Scott Adams and was removed by Crestfalling. Please do not use LLM to generate text for articles like that. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:09, 27 January 2026 (UTC)

Citations for Scott Adams
[edit]I removed content you added to Scott Adams because I couldn't find any evidence that the references you added from NYT, The Guardian, and The Atlantic were real. Can you please explain how you accessed the sources in your citations? Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 02:54, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Saturday Night Live parodies of Ronald Reagan
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Saturday Night Live parodies of Ronald Reagan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia and output must be carefully checked. For further information, see the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:18, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
