Family Renewal Initiative’s mission is to identify families in crisis prior to possible intervention of Child Protective Services. We assist these families by addressing barriers such as unemployment, homelessness, food insecurity, and several other challenges facing families today. For those at risk of losing their children and unable to find suitable caregivers, we provide voluntary hosting of their children. This occurs without loss of custody for the duration of the crisis while providing the support they need while they resolve their crisis. We depend on a volunteers serving in various roles to accomplish our mission and bring hope and renewal to the families we serve.
There are many ways to volunteer…
Host Families – provide a safe, nurturing home for children
Family Friends – come alongside families in crisis and provide emotional support and faith-based guidance
Resource Support – contribute to our mission in a variety of ways (ex. crafting gifts for our families, provide trucks to move furniture, participate in community engagement)
Partner Churches – provide financial support, ministry guidance, and unite together to serve Christ by serving the most vulnerable in our community
Why are we different?
Family Renewal Initiative is a faith-based organization where every staff member and volunteer are brothers and sisters in Christ. We understand that it is the responsibility of the church to extend beyond our doors and meet the needs of the families in our communities. We don’t accept any payment or insurance of any kind, and we are thankful for every opportunity to support families that are facing the isolation and fear that many experience on a daily basis.
