Keto Air Fryer Chocolate Cake

This keto air fryer chocolate cake gives you a rich chocolate dessert without conventional flour or a long oven bake. The batter uses almond flour, cocoa powder, unsweetened almond milk, and your preferred keto-friendly sweetener, then cooks in mini Bundt pans in the air fryer.

The small pans matter here. They give the batter more exposed surface area than one deeper cake pan, allowing the centers to cook much more quickly. Start checking the mini cakes at 10 minutes, but let the toothpick decide when they are finished.

Why this recipe works

  • Mini cakes cook quickly: Dividing the batter among shallow mini Bundt pans helps the centers cook faster than one deep cake.
  • Almond flour keeps it low carb: The recipe uses almond flour instead of wheat flour.
  • Cocoa brings the chocolate flavor: Unsweetened cocoa powder gives the cake its deep color and chocolate taste without adding sugar.
  • The air fryer keeps the batch small: You can make dessert without heating the full oven.

Ingredients you need

Mini Bundt keto chocolate cake sprinkled with powdered sweetener

Almond flour

Use fine almond flour rather than coarse almond meal. A finer texture blends more evenly into cake batter.

Keto-friendly sweetener

I have made this recipe with powdered or granular Swerve, allulose, and monk fruit sweetener. Different products vary in sweetness, so use the amount listed in the recipe and a product intended as a sugar replacement.

Unsweetened cocoa powder

I used Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder, but another unsweetened cocoa powder can work. Make sure it is unsweetened so you are not adding unexpected sugar.

Unsweetened almond milk

Check the carton before pouring. Sweetened almond milk changes both the sugar and carbohydrate totals.

Eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt

The eggs provide structure, the baking powder helps the cakes rise, and vanilla and salt round out the cocoa flavor.

The pan makes a difference

Mini Bundt air fryer chocolate cake with a slice removed to show the center

The photographed and timed version of this recipe uses mini Bundt pans. A six-inch round pan may fit inside many air-fryer baskets, but fitting is not the same thing as cooking at the same speed.

A deeper pool of batter can remain wet in the center after the outside looks done. If you change the pan, expect the cooking time to change too. Do not remove the cake just because 10 minutes have passed. Check the center with a toothpick and continue in short intervals if wet batter remains.

If you are choosing cookware for another recipe, my guide to what pans you can put in an air fryer explains the basic material and fit considerations.

How to make keto chocolate cake in the air fryer

Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir until the batter is evenly mixed with no dry pockets. Lightly grease the mini Bundt pans, then divide the batter evenly among them.

Air fry the cakes at 350°F (175°C) and begin checking at 10 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center of a cake. It should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs rather than streaked with wet batter.

Let the cakes cool before removing them from the pans. Almond-flour cakes can be delicate while hot, and a short cooling period gives them time to set.

How to tell when the cake is done

Do not judge the center by the color of the top. Chocolate batter is already dark, and the surface can look finished while the middle is still wet.

  • The top should look set rather than glossy with wet batter.
  • The center should not visibly wobble when the pan is moved carefully.
  • A toothpick inserted into the middle should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Air fryers and pans vary, so these signs are more useful than forcing every batch into one exact minute. If you are adapting a different oven recipe, use the oven-to-air-fryer conversion chart as a starting point. This recipe already has air-fryer instructions, so do not reduce its temperature or time again.

How many net carbs are in a serving?

Based on the ingredients and brands originally used, one serving, or one-sixth of the recipe, has an estimated 3.4 grams of net carbohydrates. It also has approximately 207 calories, 17.2 grams of fat, and 8.1 grams of protein.

Sweetener and almond-flour brands can vary. Calculate the nutrition with your own products if precise macros are important to you.

Serving ideas

Dust the cooled cakes with powdered keto-friendly sweetener or serve them as they are. A few berries or a spoonful of lightly sweetened whipped cream can turn the small cake into a fuller dessert.

Keto air fryer chocolate cake FAQ

Is this cake really keto?

The recipe uses almond flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, unsweetened almond milk, and a keto-friendly sweetener. The original calculation comes to approximately 3.4 grams of net carbohydrates per serving, but your brands can change that number.

Can I bake it in one six-inch round pan?

A six-inch pan may physically fit, but the deeper batter will not necessarily finish in the mini Bundt cakes' 10-minute window. The tested timing on this page is for the mini Bundt pans shown in the photographs. If you use a different pan, rely on the toothpick test and expect additional time.

Can I make it in a conventional oven?

Yes. Bake at 350°F (175°C) and begin checking at 15 minutes. Continue until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Pan depth will still affect the total time.

Why is the middle still wet after 10 minutes?

The pan may be deeper, your air fryer may heat differently, or the batter may have been divided into fewer portions. Continue cooking in short intervals and check the center again rather than relying only on the timer.

Should the cake cool before I remove it from the pan?

Yes. Letting the cake cool briefly helps the structure set and reduces the chance of it breaking as it comes out of the pan.

With a mini Bundt cake pan, I could see how it may come out due to the volume of batter being spread out. It DOES NOT work in a six inch cake round.

It wasn't nearly done at 10 minutes. I agree that the next time I attempt this recipe, I will DEFINITELY use a standard oven. 10 minutes in an air fryer AFTER pre-heating was not nearly sufficient. A true disappointment.

Made this and it was so delicious! My family couldn't believe it was low carb. Had to leave in about 13 minutes. After 10 min it wasn't quite cooked thru enough.
