How can regenerative agriculture help build more resilient farming systems in the face of increasing climate volatility? Our Global VP of Sustainability, Rémi ROCCA, recently joined Mark Williams and Helen Ramsbottom from BloombergNEF, alongside Andrew V. from Soil Capital and Nick Evans from Oxbury Bank Plc, to discuss our work with Soil Capital in Europe to explore and quantify the impact of regenerative agriculture on soil health and climate resiliency. Preliminary results from more than 1,200 farms in France show that, following severe drought, yields declined by 22% on farms using the least regenerative practices, compared with an 8% decline for those using the most regenerative practices. Advancing regenerative agriculture is an important step towards building more resilient agricultural and food systems for people and pets. The full BloombergNEF article is available on the Bloomberg Terminal and an excerpt is below (shared with permission). Want to learn more about regenerative agriculture and its role in the future of pet nutrition? The WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association) World Congress 2026 may be over, but the impact continues. Did you know that 90% of veterinarians reported an increase in chronic enteropathy cases in cats and dogs over the past two years? That’s what a recent survey commissioned by us revealed, highlighting a growing challenge for veterinary professionals. And when it comes to chronic enteropathies, getting the right diagnosis is a crucial step toward finding the right solution. To support veterinary professionals in navigating this evolving field, we partnered with FECAVA to launch a new Canine Chronic Inflammatory Enteropathy (CIE) Factsheet at the event. Designed as an educational resource, it aims to help veterinary professionals better understand the terminology and navigate this complex condition with greater confidence. Would you consider your cat “picky”? Or perhaps you have a dog that seems to try to eat everything? Have you wondered how to get a better understanding of what your pet likes and doesn’t like to eat – especially since they can’t tell you with words? At Royal Canin, these are questions we’ve been asking ourselves and unpacking through science for many years. It was a privilege to recently welcome Jenny Gross from The New York Times to our global headquarters in Aimargues, France, to share how we and our colleagues from Waltham Petcare Science Institute and Mars Petcare are advancing our collective understanding of pet health and nutrition. For over five decades, we have followed a science-led nutrient-first approach. Our focus is on the biological needs and preferences of cats and dogs – across different ages, sizes, breeds, and health conditions. It was great to share a bit about how we are deep diving into how our beloved pets experience taste, aroma, and texture – and how we look to innovate solutions that tackle both palatability and precise health needs simultaneously.
