Rabies is fully preventable, yet it causes thousands of human deaths each year - 99% transmitted by dogs who are lacking the right care and access to vaccinations. To help end rabies, we must work together to find and support the dogs that are hardest to reach. This #WorldRabiesDay, we’re highlighting the brilliant work of Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) and its partners in Thailand to help tackle dog-mediated rabies. With support from a $3 million, multi-year grant from the Mars Impact Fund, WVS will bring specialist veterinary expertise and targeted field support to help reach free-roaming and hard-to-reach dogs with vaccination. The work goes beyond vaccination. WVS will also support rabies surveillance and veterinary training, working alongside Thailand’s government-led rabies elimination efforts to help strengthen local capability for the longer term. We’re proud to support WVS and its partners as they work to protect more dogs and communities from a preventable disease. A new pet. A new chapter. And lots of questions. Mars has long supported adoption as an important pathway to pet ownership, working with shelters, pet parents and pets for decades, to help more pets find loving homes. Now, for our third annual Global Adoption Weekend, we’re building on that commitment by expanding our impact to more than 30 countries, while launching the new Mars Adoption Hub as part of our #ClearingThePath campaign. Building on the Mars State of the Pet Homelessness Project, new global research from Mars found that uncertainty around a pet’s health, behavior and compatibility are among the barriers that can hold people back from adopting. So, we’re bringing together practical guidance informed by Mars Petcare expertise - including the Waltham Petcare Science Institute - to answer some of the most common questions and give pet parents greater confidence as they start their adoption journey. Today, we’re proud to share how we’ve advanced that mission in our newly released Cocoa for Generations 2025 Progress Report. Among several key milestones, in 2025: 🌱 Our suppliers sourced an annual volume of deforestation- and conversion-free cocoa under our Responsibly Sourced Cocoa program equivalent to 98% of our 2025 annual cocoa volume 🤝 100% of cocoa volume produced and purchased in 2025 from farmers participating in the RSC Program in West Africa had CLMRS in place 🌎 We launched our first climate-smart agriculture program with suppliers in Latin America, engaging 430 farmers across 3,541 hectares 💡 Deployed AI tools to help elevate capabilities across the cocoa supply chain Looking ahead, we’re committed to helping strengthen the cocoa supply chain through farmer professionalization and sourcing diversification — efforts only possible through our dedicated Associates, suppliers other collaborators and stakeholders across the industry. ➡️ Read the full report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dWzVMxeP #TomorrowStartsToday #CocoaForGenerations #ProudlyMars
