Andy Parker a aimé ceciIncredibly proud of what our CEO Ulrik Mouritzen and the entire Breye Therapeutics ApS team have achieved — raising €67.5 million is a tremendous milestone. Congratulations to all of you! A very warm welcome to all our new investors, joining us in this round co-led by Mission BioCapital and Novo Holdings., and a special thank you to Novo Holdings and Sound Bioventures for believing in Breye and supporting us from the very beginning. This is an exciting new chapter for Breye. Now it’s about turning this momentum into what truly matters: making a difference for patients !Andy Parker a aimé ceciBreye Therapeutics ApS has raised €67.5 million in an oversubscribed Series A financing. 🚀 The round was co-led by new investor Mission BioCapital and existing investor Novo Holdings, with participation from existing investor Sound Bioventures and additional new investors including the Ljungström family office, Innovestor Life Science, EIFO, Catalyze Capital, Modi Ventures and Pappas Capital. The financing will support the advancement of danegaptide, a pioneering first-in-class oral treatment for Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR), into a Phase II clinical trial. Diabetic retinopathy affects an estimated 130 million people globally and remains a leading cause of vision loss among working-age adults. Current treatments are typically reserved for later stages of disease and often require invasive injections directly into the eye, creating challenges for patients and long-term adherence. As an oral treatment for NPDR, danegaptide has the potential to provide a more convenient, non-invasive option for patients while addressing a significant unmet medical need. The proceeds will also support the continued development of Breye’s broader pipeline of retinal disease therapies, including its P2X7 receptor antagonist for intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD) 👁️ This financing marks a major milestone in Breye’s mission to transform the treatment of retinal diseases and improve outcomes for patients worldwide. Congratulations to the team and all the investors involved 👏 🔗 Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/eZFSDwFH

Andy Parker a aimé ceciCongratulations to Ulrik Mouritzen and Breye Therapeutics ApS with the €67.5m Series A financing. This will allow us to conduct a clinical PoC, Phase 2 study to examine whether Danegaptide can prevent vision loss in patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, the most common cause of early blindness in the world. I also excited to welcome our new co-investors Mission BioCapital, Ljungström Family Office, EIFO, Innovestor, Catalyze Capital, Modi Ventures, and Pappas Capital, along with existing investor Sound Bioventures.Andy Parker a aimé ceciNovo Holdings has co-led Breye Therapeutics ApS' oversubscribed €67.5 million Series A, alongside new investor Mission BioCapital, to advance danegaptide – a first-in-class oral treatment for Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR), an early stage of diabetic eye disease. Diabetic retinopathy affects some 130 million people worldwide. While existing treatments, injected directly into the eye, can help preserve vision in patients with late-stage disease, treatment options for those with early or moderate-stage NPDR remain limited. An oral therapy such as danegaptide would be complementary, helping more patients be treated. The funding will take danegaptide into Phase II trials and support Breye Therapeutics' wider pipeline in retinal disease. The round was also joined by existing investor Sound Bioventures, and new investors the Ljungström family office, Innovestor Life Science, EIFO, Catalyze Capital, Modi Ventures and Pappas Capital.Novo Holdings · Novo Holdings co-leads Breye Therapeutics’ over-subscribed €67.5 million Series A financingNovo Holdings · Novo Holdings co-leads Breye Therapeutics’ over-subscribed €67.5 million Series A financing

Andy Parker a aimé ceciAndy Parker a aimé ceciSeeing so many of the people who have supported JEITO from the very beginning gathered in Paris to celebrate our fifth anniversary was deeply moving. Entrepreneurs, managers, scientists, physicians, industry players, investors, partners, institutions, colleagues, friends and families. So many people who believed, committed and helped turn an idea into what Jeito is today. Five years ago, when we created Jeito, one question was constantly on my mind: What do we do with the time that separates suffering from a solution? As a physician, I had experienced that question at the bedside. As a researcher, I knew the extraordinary power of science, but also that turning an idea into a medicine takes time. Patients cannot always wait. Jeito was born from the conviction that the time separating suffering from a solution should never be accepted as inevitable, and that we have a responsibility to do everything we can to shorten that distance. I came to see that investment, when guided by expertise and purpose, could be one of the ways to do just that: help innovation move, accelerate and reach patients sooner. Not simply as finance, but as one of the ways we can act on time. I was also deeply grateful to President Emmanuel Macron for the special message he shared with us on this anniversary and for his support to innovation, particularly in healthcare, and his determination to strengthen, through Choose France, the attractiveness of France and Europe across all fields of cutting-edge innovation. Five years later, this evening was a moment to look at how far we have come but, even more importantly, to renew our commitment to what lies ahead. There are still patients waiting, diseases without solutions and extraordinary innovations to bring to life. Five years ago, we set out to help turn time into possibility. Today, our responsibility is to keep turning possibility into reality. Further and faster for patients.

What if something is missing from the immune system? Immunodeficiencies can be inherited or acquired — for example as a consequence of diseases or their treatment. When the immune system is (partially) shut down, the impact on patients can be significant: Frequent, sometimes severe and often difficult-to-treat infections can become part of everyday life. And too often, the journey to the right diagnosis is long. Delayed diagnosis can mean delayed treatment — and, in some cases, serious complications along the way. Today marks an important milestone: we are launching a brand-new campaign to raise awareness of immunodeficiencies and help shorten the patient journey. The campaign is bilingual, in German and French, and developed in close collaboration with key opinion leaders in Switzerland. But today is also about something else: collaboration. A truly amazing cross-functional team stands behind this initiative - during its development and preparation — Silvan Heeb, Nadine Huwiler, Selim Kenber, Amélie Layaz, Eric B.az, Eric B., Fabienne Gräbnitz, PhD, Stephane Genoud, Nadine Böhm, Elodie Berger, PhD, Esdras Känzig, POMCANYS and many, many more. Thank you all for your energy, expertise and commitment! 🙏 Now it’s time to raise awareness, start conversations and make sure that patients with immunodeficiencies are recognized earlier. 👉 Have a look and discover the campaign: www.was-fehlt-mir.ch www.ce-qui-me-manque.ch

OpenAI-backed Chai Discovery just raised $130m at a reported $1.3bn valuation — but the headline isn’t the funding. It’s the pitch: “CAD for molecules.” Chai’s argument is simple (and provocative): AI shouldn’t just predict protein structures. It should design biologic drugs — especially antibodies — that look less like lab curiosities and more like real development candidates. A few points worth watching: - Antibodies are still winning share in modern drugmaking — but discovery is often the cheap part. Development is where programs quietly die. - Chai says its latest approach isn’t just about “binding”; it’s about developability (stability, manufacturability, consistency). - If design becomes faster and cheaper, the industry’s bottleneck doesn’t disappear — it moves: manufacturing, trials, endpoints, and regulatory proof start to dominate even more. The open question: is this the moment drug discovery starts to feel like engineering — or will biology keep vetoing the neatest designs?
