This update will solve a compatibility issue with react-native-maps (version 1.13.2 in my case). But this PR has more than a year old 😯.

This repo seem to be outdated and unmaintained, anyone know something about it? or have any tip on alternative packages to handle the geolocation instead of this 🙏🏼?

I suggest you to use patch package in the meantime.
It's been a long time since I used maps/location services, but maybe you can take a look at the expo plugins and incorporate those in your bare app?
