I am facing repeated reproducable forced shutdowns when booting AsahiLinux from macOS 27.0

The dmesg is attached below and of interest is the last two lines stating:

[ 204.130478] macsmc-power macsmc-power: Emergency notification: Failed to read battery status
[ 204.130484] macsmc-power macsmc-power: Shutting down in 10 seconds

I assume its a safety system of sorts as my battery indicator for Gnome is broken too.
However, fastfetch is able to pull accurate info from the TI BQ driver.
