I'm Steffen,
a machine learning PhD at the University of Oxford

I am a final year PhD student with the CDT in AIMS (Autonomous Intelligent Machines and Systems), working in the Control Group.

What I work on:

• 🎓 My PhD is on ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with Gaussian Processes and fast approximate uncertainty propagation (see GPDiffEq.jl).
• 💻 I am an AI resident at SandboxAQ, a spin-out from X, the moonshot factory.

What I work with:

• ⚛️ I use Fedora Atomic as my OS, building my own custom image using blue-build.
• 📦 All my work happens in devcontainers (private repo, to be made public soon).

Programming and Open-Source

• I use the Julia Language for my PhD.
• I contribute to the JuliaGaussianProcesses organization.
• I maintain the IntelVectorMath.jl package, which was also my first open-source contribution.

Other Interests

• Home Automation: I like my radiators and lights to operate on their own.
• DevOps: I like making my (and others) life easier.
