This seems largely out of date, incorrect, or not well explained.
- Development of the next generation of encryption and security features
- This is a general topic that would probably be appropriate for the Foundation to handle. In reality, the Foundation does not have an engineering team and it is not clear whether it should. In practice, these things are currently funded and contributed by interested parties directly (MSC4256: RFC 9420 MLS mode Matrix matrix-spec-proposals#4256) or by proxy where someone contracts an expert e.g. Element.
- Integration of new authentication mechanism, like OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- this appears to currently be funded by Element (maybe as a proxy?), it is really unclear to me how it would be handled if someone turned up to the Fdn and said "here's 5 Mio, make OIDC happen"
- Direct support for enterprise customers with existing identity managementservers
- "managementservers" -> "management servers"?
- since when it the Fdn offering support? does the Fdn have an existing business model for selling support with a broker markup?
- Deployment of peer-to-peer (P2P) across the Matrix network
- a valid prospective project I suppose, with the same issue of the first point
Either way, this is a list of technical features that are not the Foundation's focus at least for now, while all the work we actually do is not mentioned.
