Marcos Herrera-Gómez

Doctor in Economics (University of Zaragoza, European Doctor Mention, Cum Laude). Independent Researcher at CONICET and Full Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto (UNRC), Argentina, where he directs the Center for Research and Analysis in Economics (CIANECO). Visiting professor in graduate programs at UNCuyo and Universidad de San Andrés (UdeSA).

Visiting scholar at ISAE (Rome, 2010), GREDEG (Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, 2014), LISER (Luxembourg, 2017) and UPCT (Cartagena, 2020).

Research

Spatial econometrics, both theoretical and applied: specification and misspecification testing, selection of the spatial weights matrix W, spatial causality, panel data with spatial effects, and regional economics. Empirical work covers regional growth and convergence, interregional trade and input-output linkages, innovation policy, health economics and land markets.

Software

slxos (R). Orthogonal SLX score tests for spatial Durbin models. The SLX score test is decomposed exactly into a projection on the common-factor direction and an orthogonal remainder that isolates covariate-specific spillovers. The package needs only base R, includes five bundled cross-sections and reproduces the appendix table of the accompanying paper. Repository: mherreragomez/slxos.
