VDB_LIBDIR="" does not exist - ncbi-vdb was not installed in that location. VDB_LIBDIR variable pointing to the ncbi-vdb binary libraries must be specified.
Note that all the .so files are under /usr/lib/. I am not sure why ncbi-vdb insists that
VDB_LIBDIR needs to exist. Should it not check at /usr/lib/ first? At the least most
programs on Linux check for that. sra-tools seem to want to try something different
whcih is strange.
I compiled ncbi-vdb into /usr/ prefix. No error during compilation so I thought I
would be good to go.
