Did GitHub update the git server recently?

We have issue with isomprphic-git client (JavaScript library):

• Unable to push: Expected "Two strings separated by '\x00'" but received ... isomorphic-git/isomorphic-git#2102

One of the responses from GitHub are not as expected. They are different from BitBucket. Which means that something changed recently.
