For GitHub Copilot Chat (VS Code, IntelliJ, or Web):
Using GitHub CLI:

Open your terminal.
Run gh copilot chat list to see your chats.
Run gh copilot chat delete to delete specific chats.
Clear local storage (for web or VS Code extension):
Open Developer Tools (F12) in your browser or VS Code.
Go to Application tab → Local Storage.
Find entries related to GitHub or Copilot and delete them.

For Microsoft 365 Copilot (Office apps):
Open the Copilot sidebar.
Hover over a chat you want to delete.
Click the “⋯” (more options) button.
Select Delete.
To delete all history:
Go to your Microsoft Account Privacy settings:
https://account.microsoft.com/privacy
Find Copilot interaction history.
Click Delete history.

You can’t really clear GitHub Copilot Chat history because it doesn’t actually save your chats anywhere permanently.
If you're using it in VS Code
It only keeps the chat in that session.
Once you close VS Code or reload the window, the chat is gone.
There’s no history panel or saved logs unless you manually saved them.

So basically:
You don’t need to clear anything.
GitHub doesn’t give an option to see or delete chat history because it’s not stored long-term.

Thanks so much for reaching out in our community. I see that you've gotten some really good answers from @GitByG4v and @yuvikaKathaith here. What would be super helpful would be if you can provide more information on where you need your chat history cleared from. Is it VS Code, Copilot Chat via the Web, etc?

To clear the chat history in Copilot, you can follow these steps:

Open your Copilot profile by clicking on your avatar icon in the top right corner of any Copilot page.
Click on the "More" button next to your name and select "Settings."
Scroll down to the "Chat" section and click on the "Clear History" button.
Confirm that you want to clear the chat history by clicking on the "Clear" button.
Copilot will then delete all of your chat history, including any messages or files you have shared in chats with other users.
You will need to log back into Copilot after clearing your chat history to use it again.
Alternatively, you can also use the shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + C" (Windows) or "Cmd + Shift + C" (Mac) to clear the chat history in Copilot.
