Why was VAT not levied on individuals? #184900

Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyHi, I bought a Copilot Pro+ subscription as a private individual from Hungary. Since reverse charge cannot be done as a private individual in the EU, GH would have to deduct the VAT. But the invoice shows 0 USD in the Tax section. Another section about reverse charge and whether the sales price includes VAT if applicable. My question is, is the invoice correct or did I mess something up? The zip code and county name were not mandatory, but they have now been added. |

szia @norbexgang 👋🏻 You didn’t do anything wrong. This invoice is normal and valid. For Copilot, GitHub often includes VAT in the listed price instead of showing it as a separate tax line, which is why the Tax section shows 0.00 and the invoice still says “VAT is included when applicable.” The “reverse charge” text is a generic note that appears on all invoices and does not mean reverse charge was applied to you as a private individual. Adding your ZIP code and county later won’t change this invoice. From a consumer perspective in Hungary, this invoice is correct. |
