Hi everyone,

I accidentally enabled GitHub Pro+ on my account even though I already have an active Copilot Pro subscription. I noticed this only after seeing an upcoming charge of around USD 390 scheduled for next month.

This was an unintentional activation while checking the billing section, and the Pro+ features haven’t been used at all.

Has anyone dealt with canceling Pro+ before the next billing cycle so the charge doesn’t go through?
Any advice on what worked for you would be really helpful.

First things first, cancel the Pro+ plan as soon as you can.
Go to GitHub, click your profile picture → Settings → Billing and plans. You should see the Pro+ subscription there. Just edit it and downgrade back to what you were using before.
If you do this before the next billing date, you’ll most likely avoid being charged at all.

If you’ve already been charged, don’t stress. This happens to people all the time.
Head over to GitHub Support (support.github.com) and explain the situation honestly: that you already had Copilot Pro and accidentally enabled Pro+ by mistake, and you’d like to cancel it and request a refund. Companies are usually pretty understanding with genuine mistakes, especially if you act quickly.

If #185011 is your support ticket number, make sure you mention it when talking to them — it helps speed things up.

The good part? You don’t have to lose Copilot Pro if you like using it. You’re just removing the extra Pro+ plan you didn’t mean to add.
