The AI endpoint uses Vercel OIDC automatically on a linked Vercel deployment. For local or non-Vercel hosting, set AI_GATEWAY_API_KEY. Optional controls are AI_MODEL (default minimax/minimax-m3-free; set a premium Gateway model after adding provider credits), AI_MAX_OUTPUT_TOKENS, AI_FREE_DAILY_GENERATIONS, and AI_USAGE_SALT.
AI credit checkout reuses NOWPayments. Set NOWPAYMENTS_API_KEY, NOWPAYMENTS_IPN_SECRET, PUBLIC_API_URL, SITE_URL, and DATABASE_URL. The pack defaults to 100 generations for $19 and can be changed with AI_CREDITS_PER_PACK and AI_CREDITS_PRICE_USD.
Every generated brief now also returns a structured Project Model containing the design basis, streams, unit operations, tagged equipment, verified calculations, utilities, quality controls, cost drivers, missing inputs, deliverables, and safety-review items. The workspace exposes these as functional sections with local version history, design-basis editing, print support, and portable JSON export.
Numerical concentration, LMTD, and cylindrical-volume results are calculated by deterministic server functions. If a Gateway model omits its requested structured tool call, EDG returns a safe deterministic process route instead of leaving the workspace unusable; paid generation credits are refunded for that degraded path. All outputs remain concept-stage and require qualified professional review before real-world use.
