I teach programming by helping people understand how things actually work,
then turning that understanding into code, projects, and problem-solving skills.

}I have a BSc in Computer Science and a background in full-stack software development.
Today, a major part of my work is teaching programming and Computer Science through 1-to-1 online lessons.
I've worked with 50+ learners, from young beginners writing their first programs to developers expanding into Python, databases, backend development, and Computer Science.
|
I founded MicroCohort to provide focused, human, one-to-one programming and Computer Science education. No giant recorded course. No getting stuck alone for three hours because one line of code makes no sense. No memorizing syntax without understanding what the program is doing. The focus is simple: Learn the concept → solve problems → write code → build something → explain why it works. |

From the first print() to writing structured applications.

Real Projects
Topics include:
Python Fundamentals · Problem Solving · OOP · File Handling · SQL · APIs · Django · FastAPI · Automation
I also work with students studying Computer Science curricula and programming-focused examinations, including:
| Curriculum / Board | Areas |
|---|---|
| Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science | Theory · Algorithms · Pseudocode · Programming |
| GCSE Computer Science | Programming · Algorithms · CS fundamentals |
| OCR | GCSE Computer Science concepts and programming |
| AQA | Computer Science and programming |
| Pearson Edexcel | Computer Science concepts |
| AP Computer Science | Programming and CS foundations |
The goal is not just remembering the mark-scheme answer.
I want students to understand why the answer is correct.
I also teach people moving deeper into software development:
Python · Django · REST APIs · SQL/PostgreSQL · Git · Backend Concepts · JavaScript/TypeScript · React/Next.js
|
Understand Build the mental model first. |
Practice Solve focused problems. |
Build Turn concepts into working software. |
Explain If you can explain it, you understand it. |
I prefer active coding over passive lecturing.
That means debugging, predicting outputs, tracing programs, solving problems, changing existing code, explaining decisions, and building projects.
Software Engineering Background
Before focusing heavily on education, I worked across frontend and full-stack software development.
My engineering background includes:
- JavaScript and TypeScript
- React and Next.js
- Python
- Django and Django REST Framework
- FastAPI
- PostgreSQL and SQL
- REST APIs
- Git and GitHub
- Docker
- Responsive web applications
- Software architecture fundamentals
I have also worked in engineering mentorship and code-review environments, which strongly influenced the way I teach programming today.
Instead of simply showing someone the final solution, I prefer breaking down how to reason toward it.
What a Lesson With Me Looks Like
A typical lesson is not:
"Watch me code for an hour."
Instead, we work through a cycle like this:
Concept
│
▼
Simple Example
│
▼
Predict What Happens
│
▼
Write It Yourself
│
▼
Break the Code
│
▼
Debug It
│
▼
Solve a New Problem
│
▼
Apply It to a Project
The difficulty changes according to the student.
A beginner might be learning why a loop repeats.
An exam student might dry-run an algorithm.
A developer might be reasoning about database relationships, APIs, authentication, async code, or application architecture.
Topics I Can Help With
- Python fundamentals
- Variables and data types
- Conditions and loops
- Functions
- Lists, dictionaries, tuples and sets
- File handling
- Object-oriented programming
- Exceptions
- Iterators and generators
- Decorators
- Context managers
- Problem solving and debugging
- Algorithms
- Searching and sorting
- Pseudocode
- Boolean logic
- Data representation
- Computer architecture
- CPU concepts
- Memory and storage
- Networks
- Databases
- Programming fundamentals
- Git and GitHub
- SQL
- PostgreSQL
- Django
- Django REST Framework
- FastAPI
- REST APIs
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- React
- Next.js
- Docker
- Backend fundamentals
Understanding > memorization
Practice > passive watching
Clarity > jargon
Fundamentals > shortcuts
Consistency > intensity
Building > endless tutorials
Good programmers are not people who remember every function.
They are people who can break a problem down, reason about it, test assumptions, find information, debug mistakes, and keep moving.
That is the skill I try to teach.

- Making technical concepts easier to understand
- Creating better programming exercises
- Helping students move from tutorials to independent problem solvingA lot of my current work happens around teaching, curriculum development, exercises, student projects, and MicroCohort, so commit counts alone do not represent what I work on.
