Compassionate and nonjudgmental Individual and Couples Counseling and outdoor Walk & Talk Therapy in Central San Antonio. Our mission is to help you "find your path, stay on your path."

What do you enjoy about being a counselor?

I love working with people and embracing my curiosity. In my experience with early morning counseling sessions and outdoor therapy in San Antonio, I’ve come to believe that people are incredibly resilient and capable of change. It is very gratifying to witness individuals heal and grow, ultimately seeing themselves in a more loving light.

What is your approach to counseling?

As a Person-Centered counselor, I prioritize trust, authenticity, and genuineness. Whether through early morning counseling sessions or outdoor therapy, my approach is rooted in focusing on solutions, actions, strengths, and goals. Ultimately, all roads lead back to self-compassion, essential in my San Antonio counseling practice.

What type of issues do you work with?

I work with people in San Antonio who are 'struggling to stay afloat' in their lives. This may involve dealing with challenges such as depression or anxiety, lack of self-esteem and self-worth, relationship and communication troubles, addiction issues, or internal conflicts. Through early morning counseling sessions and outdoor therapy, I help individuals navigate these difficulties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please email me if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Think of counseling as "growth and healing." We are addressing problems and challenges that almost every person faces at some point. You can expect a warm, safe, nonjudgemental energy combined with deep listening and genuine respect. We will also set goals, gain clarity, and track our progress. My aim is to deepen and ground the relationship you have with yourself so that you can experience a more authentic and connected way of being.

I do not work with children. I see teenagers (16-18), young adults, and adults. I also work with adult couples.

After your free online consultation, you can expect to start within 1-2 weeks based on availability. Generally, the process is simple and quick.

I am able to provide CBT-based therapy tailored to your needs and situation. We will collaborate on what works best for you.

55-minute counseling sessions are $150. 55-minute couples counseling sessions are $175. Walk & Talk sessions are $150 for 55-minutes and $185 for 90 minutes. I currently accept United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. For insurance clients, I am able to determine your out-of-pocket cost per session prior to the session. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on need and availability. Please email with additional questions.

I will soon be able to accept Aetna insurance. I will update new and existing clients when I am able to accept additional providers.

I accept credit/debit card, check, and cash. You can pay for sessions through a number of secure online and app-based portals. You can book sessions through email, text, or an online calendar. Yes, I offer free 15-minute online consultations. Email me to set up a free consultation.

Yes--I am happy to meet you online (or by phone) for our sessions.

It's like counseling but outside! For some, walking side-by-side, outside an office setting, can be more impactful. There is a subtle power in movement and walking. Connecting with the outdoors, fresh air, and light is an added bonus.

Light rain won't stop us. Heavy rain, unreasonable cold or heat will. If the weather is extreme, we will pause the session and communicate about a make-up. One benefit of early morning hours is that it won't be too hot during San Antonio summers! I offer Walk & Talk sessions on Fridays, from 7am-11am. Spots are limited to those hours.

You can expect to cover about a mile at a reasonable pace. I will tailor our pace to your needs and comfort. You need to be able to walk or move comfortably in an outdoor setting. This is not elevated heart rate exercise or strenuous exercise. This is casual walking in a peaceful, easy setting.

Confidentiality is very important in counseling. I will always protect and respect your privacy. Indoors or online, privacy/confidentiality is assured. If we are counseling outside, I cannot guarantee it because we will be walking and talking in public. I will make every effort to maintain privacy and discretion while acknowledging  the limits of this type of therapy.

If you need to cancel, please communicate at least 24 hours in advance. If it less than 24 hours, you will be charged the full price for the session. All clients receive one "grace cancel." That means, I offer one free 24-hour-or-less cancellation. I will make every effort to ensure  you are aware of my cancellation policy and I always encourage open communication. In short, my aim is to be reasonable while also respecting my time.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have a Masters of Science from UTSA. I am licensed in the state of Texas.

They are essentially the same. A counselor could be thought of as more of a "generalist" while a therapist might have a specialty. Counseling can be broader while therapy can be more specific. I consider myself both but often refer to myself as "a counselor."

"Find Your Path, Stay On Your Path."
