Just as the knowledge of Vedas was revealed to the sages through meditation, is this possible to gain knowledge of different paths by mediation on that particular type path?

For example in patanjali yog sutra:- vibhutipad Verse 26-By meditation upon sun you can gain knowledge of bhulok, Verse 27- by meditation upon Chandra(moon) you can get the knowledge of stars and planets.

So like this by meditation upon that particular knowledge like "I want the knowledge of purans" and by meditation upon puran or meditation upon a deity to get the knowledge of purana does doing this can help you to achieve knowledge?

  • yes you are right, you can see Patanjali sutras from 3.16-3.48.. for example applying samyama on sun gives knowledge of cosmic regions, applying samyama on nabhi chakra gives knowledge on system and anatomy of body, etc.. you can read all those sutras.. Commented Aug 10 at 5:29
