Mathematician. Reader. Writer. Riddler.
Co-creator of the Riddler's Den, where stylised riddles were published each Friday, along with solutions, during 2015 and 2016.
I do what I can to be a class act,
Though I fear that detractors shall ever detract.
I pay them no heed; they're not worth my time
(except to disparage them briefly in rhyme).
I'm one of the founding fathers of this site since before it even launched: #1 user by rep since day 1 (although others have better knowledge of literature; I've just been more consistently present), and a moderator since 2020. I try to be always present in case of need, while not obtrusive or trigger-happy. Feel free to call me out if you think I've done anything wrong.
- Fantasy: Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, The Neverending Story, Bartimaeus series, Stonewylde series, Lukyanenko's Watch series, etc.
- Classics: William Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy, Edgar Allan Poe, William Blake, etc.
This site has a very broad scope: novels, short stories, plays, poetry, comic books, song lyrics, essays, speeches, etc. Check out the hundreds of unanswered questions, post your own questions, or join us in chat. It's a small site, but we have some incredible Q&A, as well as regular reading challenges which anyone can join. So little time, so much to read ...
Moderator of three other Stack Exchange sites as well:
Sci-Fi & Fantasy - I joined for the fantasy novels, and learned about other things mostly by osmosis. Most of my favourite works are sadly underrepresented on the site; ping me in chat for recommendations.
Puzzling - I was the #1 user by rep from 2015 to 2020 (more or less). This SE site is unlike any other: 'questions' are usually puzzle challenges created by the OP and 'answers' are solutions. Come and check out the riddles, maths and logic puzzles, wordplay, and much more! Many of the puzzles on the site are incredible works of art created by extraordinary minds, awe-inspiring to read even if you have no clue how to solve them.
Veganism & Vegetarianism - a tiny beta site, where I became a mod almost by accident. As a lifelong vegetarian, I'm invested in the topic but must admit it's essentially a failure as a Stack Exchange site project.
Also a member of a few other Stack Exchange sites, but not many and I like to keep it that way. I'm not interested in having a lot of site profiles across the SE network.
