Cancellation & Refund Policy
At Ludger’s Bavarian Cakery, we understand that plans can change and sometimes cancelling an order is unavoidable. Our goal is to provide excellent service while maintaining fairness for both our customers and our team.
- We require at least 48 hours’ notice for order cancellations to be eligible for a refund.
- All approved refunds will be issued in the form of store credit or a gift card—no cash or credit card refunds will be given.
- All refunds are subject to a 25% non-refundable fee to cover time and resources already invested in the order.
- Cancellations made within less than 48 hours of the scheduled pickup or delivery will not be eligible for a refund.
- If a cancellation is needed and the intent is to reschedule the exact same order, we will allow for 1 reschedule with no penalty. Otherwise, it will be considered a cancellation and processed accordingly. The same notification timeframes apply as outlined within.
Custom & Specialty Orders
- Custom cakes and large orders require extra preparation time. For these orders, we require at least 7 days notice for cancellations and refunds.
- Due to the personalized nature of custom cakes and specialty items, some custom orders may not be eligible for a refund at all once production has begun. This includes highly detailed or intricate designs that require advance preparation.
- Wedding cakes have their own cancellation terms, which are outlined in the wedding cake contract signed at the time of booking.
No-Show & Late Pickups
- Orders not picked up on the scheduled date will not be eligible for a refund.
- If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand that things happen and we encourage you to communicate with us regarding your arrival time. Please note the following:
- We will not expect our team to stay past closing time.
- We will not leave your cake outside for pick up after our team is gone for the day.
- We will hold your order until the end of the business day, but after that, we cannot guarantee freshness.
Quality Concerns
- We take pride in our products and want you to love your order. If you have any concerns about the quality, please reach out to us within 24 hours of receiving your order so we can address the issue.
- Taste is personal, and while we strive to create flavors our customers will love, if you don’t care for a particular cake, we hope you’ll try something different next time! However, a refund will not be given.
Design Concerns
- We do our best to bring your vision to life based on the details provided at the time of ordering.
- If you are unhappy with the design of your cake, please let us know at the time of pickup so we can assess the situation.
- While we strive for accuracy in custom designs, minor variations may occur due to the artistic nature of cake decorating.
- Design disputes will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but refunds will not be issued for design preferences that were not clearly communicated during the ordering process.
Miscellaneous
- Refunds cannot be issued solely to change the original credit card used for payment. Processing credit card transactions incurs fees, and issuing a refund for this reason would result in triple the processing fees for a single order.
