In my work as a poet, writer, and teacher, I explore the intersections of body, motherhood, trauma, healing, justice, and the power of narrative.
My poetry books, The High Shelf and I Say the Sky, have been praised for their clarity, emotional depth, and keen ear for language and music. I also write creative nonfiction and lyric memoir, and explore the ways in which personal stories connect to larger social and environmental concerns.
My writing has appeared in over 80 national
publications, including The New Yorker, The Kenyon Review, LA Review of Books, Spirituality & Health, and The Boston Globe Magazine.
I hold a BA from Harvard and a PhD from Columbia University, am a certified yoga teacher and serious student of buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh.
