Payments are usually measured by what they cost, but what if we looked at the value they could create? We commissioned Forrester Consulting to find out. The Total Economic Impact™ of Adyen looked beyond the cost of processing to quantify the impact across revenue, fraud and operational efficiency for a $2B composite enterprise using Adyen. The study found $8.8M in three-year present value, with financial gains resulting from higher authorization rates, reduced chargeback fraud and more efficient global expansion. AI is changing how software gets built. And how well we use it matters just as much as what it can do. At Adyen, processing €1.39 trillion in payments means we can’t optimize for speed alone. Stability, safety, and innovation have to keep pace. We think about AI the same way. The goal isn’t just more code or faster delivery. It’s better systems, safer engineering, and helping our engineers grow as the way we build software changes. Our CTO, Tom Adams, shares how we’re approaching AI across our development lifecycle, what we’ve learned so far, and where he thinks it goes next. Swipe through for a look at our approach, then follow the link to read Tom’s full perspective. https://bit.ly/3VDHe6X

In a typical enterprise, 20% of payment flows still need manual intervention. Is that a sign that payments infrastructure hasn't caught up with how businesses actually operate? Or is it simply the reality of finance, where edge cases, fraud checks, and regional nuance will always require a human in the loop? Alec McLaurin, Senior Commercial Business Manager at Adyen, breaks down what's really behind that 20%, and what it means for how businesses should think about their payment stack. Refactoring legacy systems has historically taken months of painstaking detail, and high levels of coordination across engineering teams, with a high risk of missing something critical. Recently, a group of engineers used AI to refactor complex payment dependencies into 40+ scheme-specific deployments. They did it in two months, with zero incidents. And it's part of a broader shift: AI adoption across our engineering teams is effectively at 100%, and merge requests per developer are up 48%. How we build software is changing. Finance teams don't set out to build complexity. It often just accumulates, one banking relationship or tool at a time. The outcome is the same, though: Liquid cash ends up trapped in a slow, complex money movement cycle. Adrian Davis, Head of Financial Services & Insurance here at Adyen, breaks down how this happens — and why simplifying the stack might matter more than adding to it. How many banking relationships is your treasury team juggling right now? Tell us in the comments! Watch Episode 1 of Adyen Presents: Treasury here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3UQpyVm
