Eduardo Bouças compartilhou issoWe’ve recently lifted some limitations on the Netlify platform. 1️⃣ If you gate access to your site using password protection or single sign-on (SSO), you can now use scheduled functions and event-triggered functions, which wasn’t possible before. (More on event-triggered functions soon, btw. Stay tuned.) 🔗 https://lnkd.in/daKPaJtK 2️⃣ The Netlify Cache API now supports the stale-while-revalidate directive, letting you serve a stale response from the cache while fetching a fresh one in the background. The `fetchWithCache` method handles revalidation automatically, while a new `needsRevalidation` lets you do it manually. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dw6uKugZ 3️⃣ This is a small one, but people (and especially agents) like to define a `path` property in functions that matches the default /.netlify/functions/<name> URL. I’m alright for now, but it does mean I’m opening myself up to work again. If you know me, you know I’m not the “schedule posts and call it a day” kind of social person. I do senior social and community work for technical products. I take changelogs, docs, release notes, and “we shipped a thing” updates and turn them into posts people actually understand, care about, and click. I also handle the rollout so launch day does not depend on luck and the conversation doesn't die after day one. And yes, I do reporting, but the kind that answers “what worked, what didn’t, what do we do next,” not cute little dashboards for sport. My priority would be a full-time role, but I’m still open to contract or part-time work too. I’m focused on devtools, AI, or B2B SaaS teams. Remote. If you know a team that needs this kind of help, I would really appreciate a DM or a warm intro.

That's what I always say when a coworker, a teammate, or their manager tells me that something is going on with them or their family and it's affecting their work commitments. It's now time to take my own advice. While I have many exciting things going on in my professional life — in short, I had decided to leave Cloudflare early this year and start my own business — as I was going through the transition, my dad's health deteriorated suddenly. I had to jump on a same-day flight from California to Slovakia to be with him and comfort him during what looks like his last days with us. I apologize to many of my Cloudflare colleagues and friends that I left without saying a proper good-bye. Rest assured that I'll do my best to catch up with you once my family situation settles down. In the meantime, please connect with me here on LinkedIn so we can stay in touch — I no longer have access to internal chat or email. To those of you who have checked in on me already while I've been busy and mostly offline — thank you! I appreciate you. I'll be back, but for now — family first. ❤️

Eduardo Bouças reagiu a issoEduardo Bouças reagiu a issoI’ve been on a CGM since they were invented, and I created the first portable glucose system in the 90s on a palm pilot. Here is a part you’re not gonna wanna hear - if you’re not a diabetic, you don’t need a continuous glucose meter. You’re not gonna learn anything. There is no dramatic glucose spike when you eat this or that - you’re normally blood sugared person. A normal person’s blood sugar can go as high as 150 or more for minutes at a time after eating pizza or sugared soda. This is not unique. “I learned so much about how bananas affect my blood sugar” - no you’re not special that’s what bananas do. They will happily sell you a meter, and they will happily take hundreds of your dollars, and they will also stretch the Y axis to make it look like your blood sugar “spikes to 120 when you eat grapes.” then you’ll say I learned so much about my body and what happens when I eat this or that or the other thing. But that’s what a normal pancreas does. I haven’t had a working pancreas for almost 35 years. Enjoy the pancreas you have and there’s absolutely nothing that you’re gonna learn from a continuous glucose meter unless you are either a type one or a type two diabetic, or you’re a prediabetic with a genetic disposition and your doctor recommends it. People will come into the comments and they will talk about the diabetes and insulin resistance epidemic in America, and how if everyone gets on a CGM will all learn more about our blood sugar and are eating, but no one‘s willing to just eat better. Go and get a hemoglobin A1c test, you can get it over-the-counter at Walgreens or CVS, and if it’s approaching 5.9 or over 6 - you’re a type two diabetic. Now you can get a CGM if you want to. But if your A1c is in the middle fives, you’re fine. I apologize for the rant, but they are selling continuous blood sugar meters to humans that don’t need them when there are actual diabetics that do. All that said that Dexcom Stello will do what you want if you insist. Final rant, I’m a type one diabetic and I have a non-working pancreas. Type one diabetes is not the same as type two diabetes. Google is free.
