I volunteered for Sonhar Acordado in Brasília, Brazil. It was one weekend where we worked with small poor children. It was a weekend full of play, games, fun and care. This was my first volunteering experience and it has an striking effect on me. If it wasn't for this experience probably I would not have joined other volunteering organisations.

I worked as a full member on the Talent Management team. Our goal was to help Brasília's Local Committee members to have a great and full AIESEC Experience. This was my first working experience outside of IT and it was eye opening. It gave me an immense boost on how to work with other peers, personal development, motivation, rewarding and much more.

I was volunteering as a construction worker, half day 5 days per week. We were building a small kitchen for a elderly home in a poor neighborhood of La Antigua, Guatemala. When I started I didn't know anything about construction but we had a very good and experienced foreman. He taught me all the basics of work safety & precautions and also basic techniques for building walls, bending iron bars, assembling iron columns and many other things. It was a very relaxed work environment, a very mixed…

He taught me all the basics of work safety & precautions and also basic techniques for building walls, bending iron bars, assembling iron columns and many other things. It was a very relaxed work environment, a very mixed working group from high schoolers to war veterans, men and women. When I left, the project was not yet finished.

A "once in a lifetime" opportunity knocked in our door and we decided to embrace it: travel around the world! It was, unquestionably, the year that most of our dreams came true!
We visited 19 countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Phillipines, South Korea, USA, México, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina & Uruguay. We experienced first hand many of the wonders of our world but also some of the least pleasant.
In La Antigua…A "once in a lifetime" opportunity knocked in our door and we decided to embrace it: travel around the world! It was, unquestionably, the year that most of our dreams came true!
We visited 19 countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Phillipines, South Korea, USA, México, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina & Uruguay. We experienced first hand many of the wonders of our world but also some of the least pleasant.
In La Antigua, Guatemala we volunteered for a month and also took Spanish classes.
This was one of the best years of our lives and definitely a turning point.
