I've been doing online searches for a while for a game I only saw once at a Texas hobby shop in the late 90's. I remember several details, but haven't come up with anything on searches so far.

  • RPG with possible tabletop miniatures
  • Expansive universe with references to territorial "warlords"
  • Chem troopers
  • Lightning engineers
  • A race of aliens that could biosculpt you, add years to your lifespan, or correct deformities. It cost them years off their lives to do it.

  • Was it hex-based? Commented yesterday

Just based off of the description of a tabletop game with miniatures, I came up with Heroscape as per my Board Games Stack Exchange Question. They have Warlords.

Warlord is a Class in Heroscape. It was introduced in the Rise of the Valkyrie Master Set with Ne-Gok-Sa, and has since seen notable characters such as Valguard.

There exist various lightning-based units and chemical units.

  • Wikipedia says that Heroscape didn't come out until 2004, which would mean it couldn't have been seen in the late 90s. That said, I distinctly remember playing it in a house that I moved out of around 1996, so I'm not sure I trust the Wikipedia page. I wonder where it got to... Commented 4 hours ago
