AI is expanding what rail systems can do. 🚆 But it is also creating new risks that need to be addressed. The idea is that #security has to be integrated into design, deployment and operation. That includes protecting data, testing models and monitoring how AI behaves in real-world applications. In this article, we look at how we are building resilience across the AI lifecycle in #mobility, from emerging vulnerabilities to the essential safeguards. With AI becoming more central to rail infrastructure, what should an industrial-grade trust architecture look like? And what are its boundaries? Share your thoughts in the comments. 👇

The gods and giants carved into the Pergamon Altar have been out of view for years. Together with the Siemens Arts Program and Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (SPK Berlin), we're bringing the Great Frieze into photorealistic digital detail, as part of Pergamon Altar Digital. No tickets. No opening hours. No borders. Anyone, anywhere, will be able to explore one of the most dramatic sculptures of antiquity, long before the physical museum reopens. The web version launches soon. The Pergamon Museum opens its doors again on June 4, 2027. Stay tuned. #SiemensArtsProgram

News worth celebrating 💙 Siemens has once again been named one of Forbes Worlds Best Employers 2026. For the seventh consecutive year, this recognition belongs above all to our people. Awards like this are gratifying. But they also make me reflect on what being a great employer means at a time when AI is reshaping the world of work. Many of todays jobs will evolve. New opportunities will emerge. And the skills that make us successful today may not be the ones we need tomorrow. In this environment, I believe one of the most important responsibilities an employer has is to help people keep growing, learning, and developing throughout their careers. Technology will continue to evolve at extraordinary speed. But one thing has not changed: technology is only as powerful as the people behind it. Progress is driven by people who stay curious. People who are willing to learn. People who have the confidence to step into new territory and grow. That is why we continue to invest in skills for life and lifelong learning across Siemens. Because resilience and relevance in a changing world is built through learning, and because learning is one of the most powerful ways to help people unlock their potential and shape their future. This recognition encourages us to keep going. Thank you to everyone at #TeamSiemens. This one is yours.

What if the biggest #sustainability impact of #IndustrialAI happens beyond company boundaries? Our new report, “From Signal to Scale”, developed with Quantis and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), looks at where Industrial AI is already creating measurable sustainability impact and where its greatest opportunities lie. Want a sneak peek into the key findings? ➡️ More than 80% of the Industrial AI use cases identified are already being implemented in real-world operations, not just pilot projects! ➡️ Around 40% of use cases already measure and track their sustainability impact – highlighting the opportunity to scale measurement alongside deployment. ➡️ Today, nearly 90% of Industrial AI solutions help companies improve their own operations. 💡 But the biggest opportunity may lie beyond that: Imagine working together across energy systems, supply chains, infrastructure, and material flows. Industrial AI can help connect these systems, unlocking impact at a much larger scale. That's where Industrial AI could make the greatest difference for sustainability, resilience, and competitiveness.

A robotic arm can cause costly mistakes on the shop floor.🤖 What if there were an easy way to prevent them, at almost no cost? That’s what a #DigitalTwin makes possible. It catches errors and fine-tunes the arm before it enters operation. A collision, a timing glitch, a blind spot, all shows up on screen instead of on the production line. The digital replica is also used to refine the arm’s path, adjust the speed and sequencing until efficient performance is achieved. The arm enters operation with capabilities already tested and validated. A smarter way toward optimized #FactoryAutomation.

Every mission needs a launch point. For this one, it’s a stretch of beach, a small crew, and a drone about to take off. Once airborne, the drone flies the length of the dike, capturing around 750 images per kilometer. What could take an inspector around four hours on foot can be covered by drone in roughly 20 minutes. #AI then analyzes the imagery for cracks, erosion, vegetation growth, and other potential anomalies — turning thousands of images into a focused list of locations that need a closer look. Together with Aerosophia, part of the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem, our technologies connect drone data, digital twins and maintenance workflows in an end-to-end process. Those AI-detected findings are mapped to their exact locations and connected to maintenance workflows. Drone imagery is also transformed into 3D point clouds, creating a #DigitalTwin that inspectors can explore remotely, zoom in, analyze findings and understand exactly where action is needed. And because the same dike can be surveyed again, Aerosophia can compare inspections over time — helping water authorities track whether cracks are growing, erosion is progressing, or new anomalies are emerging. That shifts inspection from a snapshot to continuous, data-driven asset monitoring. The business impact is clear: faster inspections, more consistent coverage, earlier visibility of change, and a shorter path from detection to maintenance. Launch. Fly. Flag. Fix. That’s what smarter dike management can look like — helping the Netherlands keep its flood defenses monitored, measurable and ready for action.

What if your parking lot could power your workplace? At our Princeton campus in the US, solar canopies do more than provide shade for vehicles. They're part of a resilient energy system helping the site generate, store, and manage its own energy. The campus is a living lab where our researchers test how energy systems can become more resilient, sustainable, and autonomous. More than a demonstration project, Princeton serves as a research hub and a proving ground for technologies that help reduce carbon emissions while improving resilience

Is it possible to grow more food without using more land and water? 🥬 Vertical farming is testing that idea by moving cultivation into controlled environments, where water, nutrients, lighting and climate can be managed far more closely. The potential is significant: up to 90% less water, 70% less fertilizer, and new growing capacity in places where conventional agriculture is unfeasible or difficult. But making that work inside a compact farm requires precise control of interconnected variables and systems. Read the full article to see how our #automation and #data help LindenGreen manage those conditions and turn a container into a fully operational farm. How can indoor farming support food security in a world of growing resource scarcity? Share your thoughts in the comments. #VerticalFarming #FoodSecurity
