Why we love it: Comfort-first bras can sometimes lack support, shape and style, but that's not the case with this ultra-comfortable option. "It's unbelievably lightweight — you truly might forget it's on — but it still manages to deliver real support," says Contributing Writer and bra expert Brigitt Earley. 

What experts say: "Between the super-sleek, seamless look that offers smoothing abilities and the plunge neckline that hides underneath most tops, this bra is the ultimate option for bra haters," says Style Optimization Editor Hannah Oh. And Helena Kaylin, founder and CEO of MINDD, praises the brand for being "the first to offer this seamless, smoothing solution."

How it fits: "I've worn this bra in heavy rotation for more than two years, and it holds up exceptionally well," says Earley, who loves that the band feels secure without digging or restricting movement. The brand claims the bra is designed to feel snug at first but will gently mold to your shape after a few wears for the perfect fit. The cups are removable and "keep their shape, and the supportive sides make the underarm area look surprisingly smooth in T-shirts."

Designed with long-term comfort and support in mind, it features the brand's patented SmartStretch straps, which are engineered to stay in place and resist slipping throughout the day. In my experience, they work. 

What experts say: "What don't I love about this bra? The front clasp is so much easier than traditional back hooks, especially when you're dealing with any sort of shoulder issue," says Commerce Editor Saundra Latham, who added that the seamless construction creates an ultra-smooth foundation under clothing. Even Jennifer Garner is a fan. She once told the brand, "You guys have no idea how many friends I've turned on to the Bra-llelujah!"

How it fits: I found that the underwire offers support without digging in, and the back panel — made from the same soft, stretchy hosiery material Spanx is known for — adds to the overall comfort. "The straps stay put, and the stretchy material really helps smooth out any lumps and bumps. It's just as comfy as my non-underwire bras, but more supportive and great under T-shirts," Latham says.

Keep in mind: There's limited sizing, unfortunately. For example, 32 bands cap out at a DD cup, and 40 bands are only available in D and DD cups.

What experts say: "Depending on the bra style and if you need a larger cup size, you might look for side panels or a wide back band and straps. These details are more critical in bras for people with fuller busts — anything over a DD," says Elisabeth Dale, author of The Bra Zone and founder of The Breast Life. This option delivers, with extra side and back bands that are made from a four-way stretch material that smooths any bumps and bulges to create a sleek base.

How it fits: "I swear this might be the most comfortable underwire bra I've worn in a while, possibly ever," says Executive Editor Nicole Sforza. "This bra is a minimizer and I really felt an immediate difference putting this bra on after having a non-minimizer on. I definitely feel like it's keeping the girls in place." The fabric and fit "feels very smooth and soft like buttah — even at the tightest level."

Why we love it: While I typically try to avoid underwire bras, I barely noticed the wires in this style. I love the plunging neckline, and while I was worried the lace would show through my clothes, it went unnoticed. Even better, the strap width increases as sizes go up, giving larger busts the support they need.

What experts say: In choosing the right bra, "you want something that is well-sewn. You want it to be even and reinforced at the straps and back," says Dale. This ticks those boxes and more. The partially lined bra has a feminine lace trim that gives it a more fashion-forward feel, contoured plunge cups that give my bust a flattering shape and boost, and elastic-lined edges that keep the bra securely in place without digging.

How it fits: "It runs a bit small," says Senior Style Editor Jessica Teich, who has a larger cup size, and reviewers tend to agree. Still, it gives a great shape. I was skeptical that the pretty lace option would provide the all-day comfort and support I expect from a T-shirt bra, but I was shocked by just how comfy it was. It is the epitome of fashion meets function. The adjustable straps were thin yet sturdy, and while I thought the lace and mesh might get itchy or irritate my skin, they were soft and comfortable even after hours of wear. 

Keep in mind: "While size options for this bra are extremely inclusive (it's rare to have a bra offer a small band/large cup combo!), it may be best-suited for smaller cup sizes," says Teich, who added, "the cups run a bit small and created a double-boob beneath tighter shirts, and I had some issues with the straps slipping throughout the day. Still, it's a well-made option with thoughtful details and luxe fabric that many love."

Why we love it: Meet the VS Lightly Lined Demi bra, a smoothing bra that barely shows under tops and has a pretty, low-cut fit that makes it feel special even in the most neutral shades. "I swear, it lifts without even digging into my shoulders," says one reviewer. Our experience with this bra was similar: It provides lift despite not being designed as a push-up bra and remains comfy throughout the day.

What experts say: "I purchased one of these during a Black Friday sale a couple of years ago and then ended up buying several more in different colors," says Oh. "The fabric is insanely soft and smooth and pretty much invisible under shirts. I love that it goes down to a 30-band option. As someone with a smaller chest, I love that there's no gaping with this bra — the cups sit flush against my skin, which is a big win."

How it fits: Because this is a demi bra, the cups are not designed to cover the entire breast. A demi bra should cover approximately 50-75% of your chest, making it a good option to wear under lower scoop neck tops. The band and cups run true to size. 

Keep in mind: "This is the most reached-for bra in my top drawer," says Oh. "But I will say that after wearing and washing mine non-stop for about a year, I'm starting to see a tiny bit of pilling along the sides where my arm rubs against my side. It doesn't affect wear or anything, though — by the time it gets worse, it'll probably be time to buy a new one anyway."

Why we love it: "Specifically designed for AA–B cups, Pepper has basically become the brand for small-chested people who are tired of cups that pucker or swallow your boobs whole," Earley says. This bra is designed to fit the proportions of someone with a smaller chest and solve problems like gaping at the top of your bra. 

What experts say: "This is an underwire, everyday T-shirt bra with shallower cups that are meant to sit flush instead of gaping," says Earley. "It's lightly lined (but not a true push-up) and has a plunging neckline." Oh adds: "Because the top of the cup is just mesh, it's almost a guarantee that it'll sit comfortably against your skin instead of gaping." 

How it fits: Earley says the bra fits true to size, with the gore sitting "flush against the breastbone" with light support, minimal lift and a buttery band fabric that feels great against skin all day. The "mesh overlay looks sleek under most tops," she says, but "shifts a little as you move, and because the fabric is delicate, it seems like it might stretch out over time."

Keep in mind: "The two-layer construction can shift a bit, making it slightly noticeable under some tops," Earley warns. The sizing is also limited; this bra isn't available in any cup size larger than a B.

Why we love it: Designed with large cup sizes in mind, this bra is a longtime favorite of Teich's. "Tried and true, it's basically the only bra I wear. I've been repurchasing it since 2012," she says. Talk about a rave review!

What experts say: "I have a large cup size and a small band size; it's difficult to find my bra size in general, let alone one that fits comfortably and lifts without digging in or hurting my shoulders or back. This bra somehow does all that and more while being more comfortable than any loungewear bra I've tried (seriously!). It's also the only — yes, the only ever — bra I've worn where the shoulder straps don't slip off or dig in," she says.

How it fits: "It's one of the rare bras that fits true to size: No spill-over, no pinching, no weird gaping," says Teich. "Best of all, it's truly comfortable; more comfortable than any bralette, wireless or even sports bra. It doesn't dig at my ribs or shoulders, it barely leaves a mark on my skin around the back, yet it keeps my breasts separated and lifted." She says it's somewhere between demi and full coverage, but it stays invisible beneath lower-cut tank tops and thin T-shirts with substantially lined (but not padded) cups to prevent show-through. 

Keep in mind: "The shoulder straps are made of a silky material, so the plastic adjustments can slip over multiple wears and make the shoulder straps less supportive," Teich warns. "I just readjust them after every wash." She adds: "I don't love that the lining is polyester, which pills and collects lint over time." This bra is also not available in some smaller cup sizes.

Why we love it: "I've never seen another bra brand with more inclusive sizing than Cuup," says Teich. "There's no shortage of availability for band and cup sizes." I tested another Cuup style and loved how the cups accentuate my natural shape. I barely felt the underwire even after wearing the bra for hours on end, and it never dug in or poked me.

What experts say: This bra is "fabricated with very cool-feeling mesh cups that gently shape breasts and conceal without adding bulk," says Teich. The brand claims "semi-opaque nipple coverage," which we found to be true during testing. The lift is subtle but shapely. 

How it fits: "It runs true to size, even in larger sizes, which can be rare," says Teich. When I tested a Cuup bra, I loved that it has thicker straps than average for my size and that the side and back panels are wider, creating a smoothing effect. The scoop-neck cut was completely undetectable, even under my thinnest shirts.

Keep in mind: While it fits well, "the elastic on the band stretches out more quickly than most bras I've tried," says Teich, who even tried sizing down in a band to offset.

Why we love it: This buttery-soft wireless bra is made of a blend of elastane and nylon for both comfort and snap-back stretch, designed to retain its shape even with daily wear. Its seamless knit band gently hugs my body, offering reliable lift and support — all without an underwire. 

What experts say: The sleek V-shaped neckline extends from front to back for a clean, flattering silhouette. I loved that the wide, supportive straps stayed in place all day, and the fabric's soft, smooth feel was an absolute standout.

How it fits: I found this bra lives up to its promise — and I can personally attest that it holds up well over time. It includes removable pads for a little extra shaping; I tried it both ways and found it looked equally flattering with or without them.

Keep in mind: This is a true full-coverage bra. If you have a smaller bust like I do, expect minimal cleavage — something to keep in mind if you're looking for a more revealing style.

Why we love it: Anyone with a larger bust knows they typically have to choose between a bra that looks good and one that offers enough support. Luckily, this PrimaDonna bra for large breasts is pretty and sturdy. Our editors and bra expert Dale recommend it, with the latter saying the brand is "pricey but worth every cent."

What experts say: "This is my go-to bra for any situation," says Senior Home Editor Jessica Dodell-Feder. "Even though it's lace, it works under nearly any kind of shirt and is the perfect balance of comfortable and supportive. I've been buying this bra (replacing it every five years or so, which is probably not often enough) since 2009!"

How it fits: During testing, Latham said, "The sides did a great job of smoothing me out and eliminating any of that dreaded armpit fat." As far as oomph, "It offers a ton of lift — almost shelf-like," says Dodell-Feder, who loves that it helps separate and elongate her torso. 

Keep in mind: Dodell-Feder never experienced any digging or pinching, though she does note that "because the cups are on the deeper/larger side, sometimes they gape a little if I've lost weight." Latham added that while it's "by no means uncomfortable, the checkered fabric and lace had a distinctive feel that makes this less of a lounge-around bra than a go-to-work or out-to-dinner bra." 

Fabric: 79% nylon, 21% spandex | Sizes: XS-4XL | Colors: 8 | Style: Bralette | Coverage: Full

Why we love it: Thousands of shoppers can't get over how comfortable and supportive this popular bra is. It's made with no foam, cups, wires or padding, but don't let that fool you — it hugs and supports the girls nicely. Plus, the wireless, barely-there design is so comfortable that many shoppers say they forget they're wearing it. 

What experts say: This bra is a top pick from Kimmay Caldwell, expert bra fitter and founder of undergarment education brand Hurray Kimmay. There is no underwire on the bralette, but it does have a thick underband that provides support and keeps it from riding up.

How it fits: In my testing, I could barely feel it — in the best way. Its durable microfiber fabric gave me the lift and support I needed without sacrificing comfort, and it was honestly the softest material I've ever worn. 

Keep in mind: I found this bra to be true to size, though the brand recommends sizing up if you want a less compressive fit — some reviewers say it runs small.

Why we love it: I've had this bra for years and never had any issues with it staying up, even during long nights of dancing at weddings and other events. Teich agrees: "The structured cups do a lot to keep this bra up and in place," she says. It even comes with removable straps, so you can add them when you need extra support or want to convert it to a halter or criss-cross style for racerbacks. "While strapless bras can sometimes buckle at the base with repeated wear, this one has strong molded cups that give a nice rounded shape and has held up beautifully through five-plus years of wear," Teich says.

What experts say: "It's rare to find a strapless bra that doesn't flatten, dig in or slip down, but this one manages to do all three," Teich says. Its molded cups and light foam padding smooth you out and provide a comfortable, natural shape. "The boning on the sides helps to keep this bra in place. Silicone strips that run along the band also help." 

How it fits: Some customers say the cup sizes run small, and in my testing, I found the same to be true (I'm typically an A cup, which the brand doesn't offer in this style, but surprisingly, the B cup fits me — be sure to check the size chart before you buy.) It looks super smooth under all types of fabrics, though Teich notes that in order to achieve that smooth look, the bra comes up rather high, so it may peek out of some dress silhouettes. 

Keep in mind: After wearing it for hours, it can start to feel like it's digging in. (To be fair, I've noticed that with all strapless bras since they have to stay up on their own.) The trade-off is its durability, Teich says.

Why we love it: This bra comes in half-cup sizes to help dial in a more precise fit. In addition to nonslip straps that stayed in place all day during testing, the bra includes removable inserts, which are especially helpful if your breasts are slightly different sizes. I appreciated the soft material and the delicate mesh overlay, which added a nice visual touch.

What experts say: "ThirdLove offers some of the most inclusive sizing options on the market, with half-sized cups and cup sizes extending up to DDDDD (H)," Teich says. 

How it fits: Women with smaller cup sizes know how challenging it can be to find a bra with a snug-fitting band that doesn't gape at the cups. I've always fallen between an A and B cup, so I was eager to try the A½ size, and it fit remarkably well. However, Oh noted that the bra tends to run large. "It's definitely a little on the bigger side; I typically wear a size 30 band, but since they don't offer that option, I got my sister size in a 32 band and found that it was still a little loose on the tightest hook option."  

Keep in mind: The underwire offered solid support and remained comfortable for most of the day, though I did notice it slightly by evening, something Teich also experienced with ThirdLove bras. "The band sits lower than my usual style, which means the underwire sits against my ribs a bit uncomfortably," she says. There's also limited sizing for band sizes 40-44.

Why we love it: Victoria's Secret bras have always been known to add a little extra va-va-voom to your bustline, and this popular push-up bra held true to the brand's reputation during testing. The padding is designed to add true volume to your chest, making it one of the sexiest, most lifting options on this list. 

What experts say: The cups have padding in two places: the bottom and the side, which really boosts your bust. There are also a ton of styles to choose from, ranging from classic nudes for everyday wear to lacy designs for special occasions (and note that prices vary by style).

How it fits: I've honestly never had more cleavage than when I wore this push-up bra. Not only did it make my breasts appear bigger, but I also loved how smoothing and supportive it was. The plunging neckline allowed me to wear a variety of different tops with it, and the straps and band were fully adjustable, which let me find a comfortable fit for my shape. 

Keep in mind: "Victoria's Secret tends to have limited options for small band/large cup combos," says Teich, and that holds true for this style: Cup sizes DDD (F) are only available in band sizes 36 and 38; DD cups start at a 34 band size.

Why we love it: A favorite of expert bra fitter Caldwell, this stunning bra holds up reliably for daily wear, while the delicate floral embroidery along the band and straps gives it a refined, elegant feel — one that leans more toward special occasion than everyday basic.

What experts say: "Bras are a lot like jeans — everybody has a different favorite depending on what fits their body best and the style they're going for," Caldwell says. "That said, there are a few great basic bras that fit well on a wide range of people." This Simone Perele bra topped her list of crowd-pleasers, and after testing it, I can see why.

How it fits: The lightly molded cups created a smooth, contoured silhouette without adding bulk, offering a natural shape that looked great under clothing. I found the bra exceptionally soft, supportive and comfortable.

Keep in mind: The band runs large; reviewers and the brand recommend sizing down: For a closer fit, order one band size down and one cup size up. (34C should order 32D).

How it fits: "I like light support, since I hate feeling too constricted, but even this one makes me feel like everything is held in place," Ross says, adding that she feels securely supported when she wears it for spin workouts. Oh notes that the bra offers the perfect amount of support for medium impact workouts like Pilates, boxing, jogging or HIIT.

Keep in mind: The straps are not adjustable, and Teich warns that even the high-support style may not offer enough support for larger breasts or high-impact activities like running.
