Welcome to SNO Sites, a website owned and operated by TBP Productions, LLP. This Privacy Policy, as part of SNO Sites’s Terms of Use, governs the website https://snosites.com (the “Site”), any services offered on or through the Site (the “Services”), and any information you provide on or through the Site or through use of the Services. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

Consent to Terms

Your use of this Site and the Services and information provided by it will be considered an affirmative act of agreement to this Privacy Policy as well as the Site’s Terms of Use. If you object to any of the terms herein, you should immediately refrain from use of the Site.

What We Collect

When you register an account through the Site or use the Site or Services, we may collect information about you and your use of the Site, including but not limited to “Personal Information” and “Usage Information.”

Personal Information. In this policy, Personal Information is information that you provide to us that can be used to contact or identify you. The types of personal information you provide to us may include your name; the name of any academic, journalistic, or community organization you represent (if applicable); your address, phone number, and email address; the address, phone number, and email address of the organization you represent (if applicable); the URL or domain name you are requesting Services for; your date of birth; username; and password.

When you register an account through the Site, we will collect and store the information that you provide to us directly to verify your identity during online registration.

Payment Information. We do not collect or store your credit card or other payment method information. All payments are processed by Stripe (https://stripe.com) and Intuit, third-party payment processors. Information you provide to Stripe will be subject to Stripe’s terms of use and privacy policy.

Your Communications with Us. If you contact us with questions, comments, or to provide feedback about our Site or Services, we may store such communications, including personal information included in the communications, so we can respond to you effectively.

Usage Information. “Usage Information” is information that cannot be used to contact or identify you. Usage Information includes passively collected information about your activities on our Site, such as usage data, IP address, and web browser information to the extent that information is not linked to your Personal Information.

Site Visitors. Visitors to our Site who have not registered or have not logged in (“Site Visitors”) can access and browse some portions of the Site without disclosing Personal Information. We may passively collect certain Usage Information from a Site Visitor’s computer, such as IP address and web browser version, when you browse the Site. In order to utilize some of the Services offered by TBP Productions, LLP, you must register through the Site.

Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site. A cookie is a small text file that allows a website to recognize your computer or account. The cookies we use fall into two general categories:

  • Essential cookies. These cookies are necessary for the Site to function properly, including cookies that support login sessions, maintain security, and remember basic preferences you have set on the Site.
  • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it over time. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, time spent on the Site, referring URLs, and general geographic location. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can learn more about Google’s data practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you choose to disable cookies in your web browser, some features of the Site may not function properly.

Children and Student Data

SNO Sites provides hosting and technology services to schools, colleges, and community news organizations. Accounts with SNO Sites may only be registered by adults age 18 or older — typically a media adviser, editor, or organization administrator. We do not market our Site or Services to children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children under the age of 13 through our Site or registration process. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected Personal Information from a child under 13 through our Site, we will use reasonable efforts to delete that information.

We recognize that student journalism inherently involves minors. Student journalists may write articles, appear in bylines, be photographed, or otherwise be featured on websites we host. SNO Sites does not collect this content from students directly — it is submitted, managed, and published by the school or organization that operates the Hosted Site. The publishing organization is responsible for obtaining any necessary consents (from students, parents, or guardians) under FERPA, COPPA, state student privacy laws, and its own policies. In our role as a service provider to educational institutions, SNO Sites complies with FERPA and supports schools in meeting their obligations.

If you are a parent, guardian, or student with concerns about content published on a Hosted Site, please contact the publishing organization directly. SNO Sites does not make editorial decisions about content on Hosted Sites.

How We Use Information

The Personal Information that we collect is used to create and maintain your account, bill you for Services, improve our Services, enhance your experience with the Site, allow us to provide a safe community for all of our users, and to help us communicate effectively with you.

The Usage Information that we collect is used to customize your experience on the Site and improve the quality of our Services. We may use cookies to collect, store, and track information for statistical purposes to improve the Services we provide and to manage the Site and the Services. We may also use cookies to remember choices you have made on the Site.

How We Share Information

We never sell or rent your Personal Information or Usage Information (collectively, “User Information”). We may, however, share information with other Users and some third parties as follows:

  • We may disclose collected User Information to any third party with your prior express consent to do so.
  • We may disclose any collected User Information to our partners, affiliates, or subsidiaries for the purposes of providing you with Services or operating the Site.
  • We may transfer information about Users to our acquisition or merger partner if TBP Productions, LLP is acquired by or merged with another company. Such successor entity would continue to be subject to the provisions of this Section with respect to previously acquired Personal Information.
  • We may disclose User Information if required to do so by law (including, but not limited to, court orders, subpoenas, or warrants), or if in our sole discretion we reasonably believe that the disclosure is necessary to comply with the law. We may also disclose this information as necessary to protect or defend TBP Productions, LLP’s rights or property.
  • We reserve the right to disclose any User Information collected for the purposes of protecting the health and safety of our community and Users, such as in the case of risk of harm to any person.
  • We may share Usage Information with third parties for the purposes described above, as well as for analyzing use and functionality of the Site, for marketing purposes, and to facilitate the services of vendors who perform services on behalf of the Site or TBP Productions, LLP.

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your Personal Information under applicable privacy laws. These may include:

  • The right to access the Personal Information we hold about you;
  • The right to correct inaccurate Personal Information;
  • The right to delete your Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions;
