Bernheim Original Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey Barrel Proof Batch A224 125.2 Proof
Type: Barrel ProofOverall more char heavy and less smooth and/or subtle than the previous incarnation. Overall not a fan of this batch.
Barrel Proof is a proof that is in a barrel when taxes are assessed and it is to be bottled.
This number can vary widely from the Entry Proof due to aging conditions.
Aging in a hot environment and/or dry one can cause the proof to go up during aging, cold and/or wet environment (Think Scotland or France in Cognac) can cause it to go down.
In either case, a barrel proof bottling is the proof within 2 points of the assessed proof ( to allow for margin of error with equipment). In other words, nothing is added to the spirit during bottling to dilute it.
Overall more char heavy and less smooth and/or subtle than the previous incarnation. Overall not a fan of this batch.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof B525 126.2 Proof 11 Years 6 Months OldA rather old and higher proof than most lately. A bit more aggressive than I would think it should be . Not a particular fan of this one.
The pick of the litter for this years Elijah Craig Barrel Proof releases !
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A123 125.6 ProofWell done blending for the first expression for 2023! Reccomended.
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A125 118.2 ProofVery Solid contender for the money.Especially since you probablyy drank the September release by now.
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch No. A124 119 ProofA very flavorful and slightly more delicate release than its predecessor (C923) . A little more understated but full of flavor. Well worth seeking out .
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C923 133.0 Proof 13 Years, 7 Months OldOne of the best Elijah Craig releases I have ever had – and that is saying a lot ! HIGHLY RECCOMEND ! It may not be the best whiskey I have had this year but it is certainly up there and the price to value ratio compared to everything else out there is astounding.
A touch more oily or buttery than the last few releases with pronounced Spanish cedar and oak notes to it.
Larceny Barrel Proof Batch A120 123.2 ProofNot only do you get the extra proof but a lot of subtle aging characteristics and aromas that would have been lost in the proofing down process! Worth the extra money for the extra proof and all the goodness that comes with it!
An altogether much drier version than the A120 Release.
Frankly not as big a fan of this release compared to those in the past.
Recommend you go out and buy this one. Develops some interesting brandy-like characteristics upon slight dilution with water from barrel proof.
Decent ,spicy, and slightly hot release. Great for those May Juleps >
