Troubleshooter for unidentified Google Ads charges

On a given day, your campaign might spend up to twice your average daily budget to take advantage of fluctuations of traffic. At the end of the month, you will have spent no more than 30.4 times your average daily budget.

To learn more about how daily and monthly limits work, and how budget changes take effect, read About spending limits.

Overdelivery

In some circumstances, your "served costs" (the cost of all the clicks or impressions that the campaign received) may exceed your daily or monthly spending limits. When this happens, you’ll never actually pay more than your spending limits.

To check your account for overdelivery, follow these steps:

  1. In your Google Ads account, select the Campaigns icon Campaigns Icon.
  2. Select the Insights and reports drop down in the section menu.
  3. Select Report editor.
  4. In the "Billing" section of the "Template gallery" card, select the Billed cost report.

You’ll notice a report that lists served and billed costs for each campaign. To calculate overdelivery, subtract “Billed cost” from “Served cost.” To perform these calculations in bulk, select the download icon in the top right of the report and save as a .csv file.

By default, the data is displayed daily and sorted by served cost. If you wish to view for a certain date range, set a date range in the upper right section above the table.
