Using your remote’s microphone
If your smart TV or game console has a microphone button on the remote, you can also use that to ask questions while you watch. Depending on your device, you may need to tap the microphone button once, or press and hold it while you ask your question.

This feature is available to signed-in users who meet the minimum age requirement (ages 13+ or the applicable age in your country) in available languages and countries.
This feature is not currently available for supervised kid accounts. It is also not available in the YouTube Kids app.
The feature is available on Android, iOS, web browsers on your computer, and smart TVs. The feature will appear on the watch page for select videos. Please note that availability may change in the future.

When you interact with Ask YouTube on the watch page, we will collect data around your use of the feature and the queries and feedback you submit. This data helps us to provide, improve, and develop our products and services. Conversations connected with your Google Account will be deleted automatically after 45 days.
To help with quality and improve our products, human reviewers may read, give notes on, and process your conversations with this feature. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. These steps include disconnecting your conversations from your Google Account before reviewers see them. We also use automated tools to help recognize and remove personal info, like email addresses and phone numbers.
Conversations which are disconnected from your Google Account and have been reviewed by human reviewers aren’t deleted automatically after 45 days. These conversations are kept separately for up to 3 years.
