Monthly Giving

THE CITY is a nonprofit newsroom that relies on reader donations to keep our reporters on the beat and our journalism free to read. Donating online is a convenient way to support our work. Make an online donation today.

By becoming a monthly sustaining donor, you create a steady revenue stream our newsroom can count on. This lets you turn a small monthly donation into a larger annual one without straining your budget.

If you are already a sustaining donor, log in here to manage your donation.

Planned Giving

You can also support THE CITY by including a gift in your will or living trust or by naming THE CITY as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance plan, or other brokerage accounts. Your financial advisor can help determine the best option for you, but we’d be honored to be a part of your plan.

Art, Jewelry, and Luxury Assets

You can also support THE CITY with non-cash passion assets like fine art, jewelry, watches, and other luxury items that hold significant value. If interested, please notify development@thecity.nyc and we can connect you with one of our partners at The Fine Art Group. They can offer practical solutions to unlock the value of these non-cash passion assets through 1) strategic sales (via global auction houses or private sale); 2) gift to a donor-advised fund (DAF); and/or 3) gift to a charitable trust. Some examples may include painting and sculpture, jewelry and watches, pop culture and sports memorabilia, coins, wine and spirits, collector cars, books and manuscripts, handbags, and other valuable collectibles.

THE CITY Merchandise

You can also help sustain our work and share your love of THE CITY by shopping at our merch store. Powered by TeeRico, every purchase directly supports THE CITY (heads up: your credit card will list “TeeRico,” but the proceeds come to us).
