Carol Rose Little is an assistant professor of linguistics at University of Oklahoma. Since 2015, she has conducted fieldwork with speakers of Ch'ol, a Mayan language of southern Mexico spoken by approximately 250,000 people. In addition to her research, she is the co-translator, with Charlotte Friedman, of From Lightning's Strike, a collection of poetry by Ch'ol poet Juana Peñate Montejo. Since 2023, she has also worked as an expert witness and interpreter for Ch'ol speakers in U.S. courts.
