Étienne Sinotte

I am a PhD Student in Political Science at McGill University. I primarily work in Comparative Politics, with a regional focus on Latin America. My research examines how people and organizations mobilize in zones and periods of state scarcity, despite having incomplete citizenship rights and being subjected to various types of violence. I am particularly interested in criminal governance, forced displacement, environmental activism, and collaborative governance taking place in this context.
I hold an MSc in Political Science from the Université de Montréal, and a BA in Applied Political Studies from the Université de Sherbrooke.
