Lori is a Communication and Education Specialist at the Children’s Institute, UCT where she plays a central role in the production of the South African Child Gauge, and the design and teaching of the CI's child rights courses for health and allied professionals.
She serves on the Advocacy Committee in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at UCT, and the executive committee of the Child Health Priorities Association where she has advocated for the protection of child health services from austerity cuts, raised awareness about the impacts of climate change and the commercial determinants of health, and led the development of a series of advocacy briefs making visible the impact of COVID-19 on children and calling for the prioritisation of children in South Africa’s response and recovery plans..
