I am a bit confused on the 180 day period rules.

I have a UK passport and I am planning to go to Hungary for a few days, and then return home for 2 weeks. After that, I would like to go to France for a few days. Can I leave & re-enter the Schengen area in this case?

Or, once I leave Hungary, do I have to wait for the 90/180 to reset before I can enter France? I read somewhere I have to start counting from when I leave the area, so does the 90 days allowance end as soon as I leave the first country?
