Inanimate Comics is the official Object Show webcomic spinoff of Inanimate Insanity written and illustrated by Charlie Case (CakeBrunch
) . The first issue "Complaints" began on 8th July 2020 and as of August 4th, 2024, has six issues to date.
Did you ever wonder what the contestants are up to after their elimination? Well look no further than Inanimate Comics and follow the antics of the past Inanimate Insanity new and old!
The comics can be found on the Inanimate Insanity official website or its Twitter. It also has an official comic dub with several cast members reprising their roles.
Inanimate Comics contains examples of:
- Animate Inanimate Object: Like its source material and the fact that it's an Object Show, and are named as such.
- The Bus Came Back: All of the eliminated and first-season contestants finally have their chance at the spotlight again when their last appearance ranged from just recently to six years in real-time.
- Here We Go Again!: After OJ was utterly defeated in a trivia contest about himself to Fan, Salt shows up decked out in a custom OJ sweater as the next challenger to the current champion. Both he and Paper could only look on in exasperation and disbelief.
- Mythology Gag: Soap is seen playing "Leo's Motel 2" in the background of the first issue from Adam Katz's animated short film "Uneven Evan" and also mentioned in her biography on the 'Inanimate Insanity'' website.
- Spin-Off: The first official spinoff of Inanimate Insanity before Fan's Fantastic Features.
- Took a Level in Kindness: In "Butterflies", Yang is a lot less of a Jerkass and more cooperative with Yin and everyone else than he usually is in the main series.
