Ken Calvert also helped me sort out the music of the era for my book on the Edmund Fitzgerald - a key component of the story. We were planning to have lunch, to meet this voice in my ear for so many years, when he became sick. A genuinely good guy, and a whiz at his work.
Today would have been the legendary Ken Kalvert’s 75th birthday. A massive reason I wanted to get into broadcasting and one of my heroes. To find out later in my career that he loved to listen to me when I was on meant everything to me🙏
