    Absolutely insane layoff decisions at WaPo: - the entirety of the staff photojournalists - half of the photo editors - 70% of the graphics team, incl management If you only care about crass business, these are teams that over perform for their size. Make it make sense.

    It’s wild to me that a news organization in 2026 would think it can be more sustainable into the future by obliterating their photo, video and design teams. To believe that a future in journalism isn’t inherently visual is actually what’s “rooted in a different era.”
