Unfortunate reality: most people will need to step up their voting game for this year's November elections and take a more active role in protecting their right to vote 🧵

Nothing says you understand the affordability crisis like wearing a $41,000 watch and a Four Seasons polo.

    .@SkyePerryman in the NYT today
We can learn from our fellow Americans who are meeting the moment. Instead of waiting for a knight-in-shining-armor political candidate, hoping he or she will do the hard work for us — or, worse, disengaging when a candidate or political movement disappoints us — we must continue to look to ourselves. Our democracy is in danger, but we can save it. We are the only ones who ever have.

NEW: Kalshi says @lauriebuckhout, the Republican nominee in #NC01, improperly traded on her own campaign, violating platform rules, and is being fined $2,500 and suspended for 3 years. (This is a Dem-held seat that is now 'lean GOP' after redistricting.)
