Jersey Mike's is shedding its weak first day. Stock up more than 5% this morning, slowly returning to its $23 offering price. $JMKE

So, a lot of reports about Jersey Mike's at its sale and as it considered an IPO were, shall we say, inflated. It was not sold for $8 billion two years ago, as reported. It was more like $6.55B, including an earnout. Some reports said that it would seek a $12 billion valuation

Oh: Jersey Mike's stock down 3%+. $JMKE The interesting thing here is that early reports suggested the stock was oversubscribed. But then they didn't increase the offering price and it came in at the mid range of their initial expectations ($23/share).

It takes a very bad economy (think Great Recession) for consumers to cut out their coffee. The economy isn't there, especially for much of Starbucks' core consumer. Consumers are in fact drinking more coffee/espresso/energy drinks from restaurants, not less.

They make almost 40b$ a yr . Selling coffee. This would be the first thing consumers eliminate if the economy were bad , I would think .
