I've seen a lot of #NextflowSummit talks, but I think that Phil's talk here about RustQC and rewrites.bio will reverberate through the community for the longest. The right message, by the right person, and just the right time. Check it out on the Summit livestream.
@tallphil from @SeqeraLabs just dropped a mass of knowledge about RustQC, a single Rust binary replacing 15 RNA-seq QC tools with 60x faster speed, built entirely with AI and zero prior experience. Plus, rewrites.bio for responsible rewrite principles🤯 #NextflowSummit
This is going to be a fantastic talk. Working on #Nextflow projects in a closed-source environment doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from the incredible tooling, modules, subworkflows and standards in @nf_core. The community wants you to focus on the science, whatever the context!
Do you use nf-core pipelines, modules and tooling in closed-source contexts? I'm giving a talk at the 2024 Nextflow Summit: Barcelona on this topic that draws from the years I spent as an "nf-core adjacent" pipeline developer.

Huge congratulations to the @nf_core community - in particular the authors of the new preprint biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Extraordinary outputs possible when the flexibility of @nextflowio is honed by an open community of intelligent, careful, and caring scientists. Everybody wins.
The ferry in Sydney isn’t super-fast in the traditional sense, but when you multiply the physical distance between Manly and the CBD by the satorial distance (giving a unit I’m calling the “budgy smuggler kilometre”), it must be the fastest vehicle in the world measured in bskm/h
