Cas Majid shared thisA personal update and date change for the Agency Slap Summit The past few weeks haven’t looked anything like I had expected them to. That, I guess, is the unpredictability of life. But before I write anything more, I would like to thank everyone who has supported Agency Slap Summit so far: our brilliant speakers, every person who has bought a ticket, the wider agency community; and of course, my team. The care and dedication you have put into the summit has not gone unnoticed, and I appreciate it deeply. Following the recent and sudden bereavement of my eldest brother, my focus has naturally had to shift. And while I am very grateful to have a team that has allowed me to do this, this has not been an easy time. It has meant I have not been able to give the summit the energy and the attention that it deserves. If you know me well, and many of you do, you will know that I am a person who likes to keep my word. The postponement of Agency Slap Summit has not been an easy decision to make; but ultimately, I want to host an event that speaks to the level of quality and creativity that I know my team and I are wholly capable of. Behind every agency is a leader who is also a father, a son, a brother. Dedicating my energy to my health and loved ones right now ensures we can return with the full focus needed to pour into the summit for next year. It feels like the right thing to do. If you have bought a ticket, you will be fully refunded, or you have the choice to hold onto it for the new Agency Slap Summit date in 2027. Please let us know which of these options you prefer. Thank you for your continued understanding and support. I can assure you, when we launch Agency Slap Summit in 2027, it will be a true testament to the talent in our industry. Like no other. With gratitude, Cas

Cas Majid reposted thisCas Majid reposted thisImagine a 20-something single mum, working on a secondhand laptop from a McDonald's in Birmingham. Fast forward a couple of months: that same woman walks into the YO! Sushi head office, leading an enormous project. I spent 10 years freelancing successfully before founding kahani. Looking back, I realise my biggest wins came because I wasn't afraid to target dream clients far outside my comfort zone. Yet, it surprises me how few agencies and freelancers look past their immediate network. The safe advice is to "speak to people you know." Your community is powerful, yes, but branching out is non-negotiable; even when your pipeline feels full. Over the years, I've landed a number of big projects with world-class brands. I didn't have a 35-page website, a flashy PDF presentation, or a mountain of testimonials. I have skills and talent, but talent is invisible if the right eyes aren't on you. What actually changes the game is a clean story strategy, implemented in the right places, consistently. A strategy I still use at kahani. today. On October 12th in Birmingham, Agency Slap Summit is letting me loose on stage - to talk about all this, and then some. If you're ready to move past underpaying clients and start winning more of the projects you actually like, this session's for you. Expect a few surprises and plenty of storytelling. Obviously. Book your tickets here: https://agencyslap.co.uk/ You'll also be hearing from a bunch of other incredible speakers, including: Debbie Richardson, Trenton Moss 👋, Nathan Lomax, and Steve Kuncewicz

Cas Majid reposted thisCas Majid reposted this35% uplift in revenue from our clients 📈 I spent 15 years running my own agency. And we achieved this growth in our penultimate year. How? Well, we: 🎓 Ran a training programme in client leadership skills on an ongoing basis 🌗 Split the team into autonomous pods 💰 Used a WMIF to incentivise the team (and not a commission) 🏃♂️ Defined and reinforced a set of behaviours for client interactions 🧑💼 Ensured sharing of all commercial aspects of the business Doing all this wasn’t quick, it wasn’t easy and we made loads of mistakes along the way. But we got there. And slowly but surely, the whole team levelled up. Proper. Client. Superstars. I’m talking about all this at the inaugural Agency Slap Summit on 12 October in Birmingham. Thanks for having me, Cas Majid! So... Are you coming? Head over to AgencySlap dot co dot uk for more info and to nab your tickets. --- P.S. You'll also hear some brilliant presentations from the wonderful Neely Khan, Nathan Lomax, Steve Kuncewicz and Debbie Richardson.

Cas Majid reposted thisDebbie is one of those rare #Adland personalities, having gained client side insights and applied them to building an agency, to then bundling all those learnings into a shareable, actionable technique for winning business, growing and retaining clients. Hear her real-life wisdom, laugh with her and try to figure out the accent (is she an Aussie, a Brummy or something else entirely?) at Agency Slap. Here for tix👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/e8XRgG2gCas Majid reposted thisI'm speaking at Agency Slap on 12 October. This definitely isn’t your standard sit-in-a-room-and-watch-PowerPoint agency event [thankfully] Slap is bringing together agency owners, leaders and some brilliant people from across the industry for a day that’s immersive, interactive and designed to get people thinking differently about how they build and grow their agencies. Cas Majid asked for something different, so here's what I'm bringing: client retention and client growth. Two sides of the table. From my CMO days what made me pick an agency, and more importantly what made me keep them. And from running a strategy-led agency what made clients stay. Because everyone sells the first project. Nobody earns the second year. When new business is this hard to win, the client you already have is the best growth opportunity you've got. Most agencies still put so much their effort into the front end, not thinking about the long game and how they become indispensible. My session is a Q&A, so it's shaped entirely by what you want to know. Got a question? Drop it in the comments or DM me and I'll get it on the list. And because I’m speaking, I’ve got a little perk for you - see comments. Discount code to be used before 23 September. Really looking forward to the conversations and connections. Cas Majid shared thisAgency Slap Summit is building nicely… and here are just some of the brilliant people joining us on stage 👀🔥 When I first came up with the idea for Agency Slap, I gave myself three simple rules: 1. It had to be built for agency owners and leaders who want to grow, even when the business environment is doing its best to make that difficult. 2. It had to be delivered by people with proper, deep expertise. People who’ve actually done it, lived it and have something genuinely useful to share. 3. It had to be immersive, different and, most importantly, a load of fun. Because nobody needs another conference where you sit in a dark room staring at PowerPoint slides all day. And looking at this line-up, I think we’re delivering on all three. These are just some of the people taking to the stage at Agency Slap Summit on 12th October. Expect big ideas, real-world experience, honest conversations and plenty you can take straight back into your agency. If you want to spend a day learning from some of the very best people in agency land, meeting other agency owners and leaders, and hopefully having a bloody good time while you’re doing it… Come and join us. 👇🏽 🎟️ Tickets: https://lnkd.in/e9VxUGrV Neely Khan Nathan Lomax Trenton Moss 👋 Debbie Richardson Steve Kuncewicz

Cas Majid liked thisCas Majid liked thisThe only reason I’m going to Barcelona at the end of this month is for Cristiana Carpini. And I would do it a million times over for anything she builds and champions, because she is a real one. I’ve been around the block. Yes, I believe I’m old and ugly enough to say that now. I’ve attended conferences, I’ve spoken at conferences. Those experiences have given me plenty, in terms of business opportunities and reputation. But somewhere along the line, maybe two-or-so years ago, I realised that I needed more. The noise of the industry is deafening sometimes. AI slop. Scaling. Engineered FOMO. It’s all too easy to lose the salt of your soul. Standing on stage at the first WVREC last year, founded by Cristiana herself, changed everything for me. It changed my life. That’s what WVREC is about. Giving women in the industry a safe space to drop their shoulders, exhale, and be themselves. It’s not performative, it’s not salesy. It’s just real women talking about real shit. And I’m ever so proud of Cristiana, my friend, for building this community with integrity and class, all off her own damn back. (Along with the help of her brilliant team). It’s rare to meet people who do genuinely ground-breaking things and don’t even try to take the spotlight for it. You’re my hero, Cristiana. ♥️ See some of you in Barcelona in a few weeks! WVREC | Women Vacation Rental European Conference Pic: WVREC stage last year, Genoa. Cas Majid liked thisCas Majid liked thisDigital Clubhouse Summit is tomorrow, and there are 10 tickets left out of 250. We started Digital Clubhouse because every eCommerce event worth going to was in London, and the first ones were run out of small rooms in Leeds. Tomorrow we've got nearly 250 people booked into the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, about four times bigger than anything we've run before, and I'm still getting my head round it. The session I'd tell anyone to stay for is the last panel on the main stage at 16:15. It's called "Will moving actually fix it? Migrating platforms, honestly", and Naomi Davies from NMD Marketing is hosting Ollie Hunt from the Magento Association, Brad Houldsworth from Remarkable Commerce, Steve Webster from Barking Cat Advisory and Luke Bream from Valentte. Most of us have watched a business spend a year and a lot of money replatforming because the site felt slow or dated, and then end up with the same conversion rate on a newer stack. Sometimes the move is the right call, and sometimes the problem was never the platform, and you can probably guess which side I tend to land on. If you've got a migration on the table for next year, you've got half an hour to talk before you sign anything. 🦁Tony Conte and I are also running a live Black Friday clinic at 13:55, with a four-week plan for anyone who thinks they've left it too late. Luke is doing his own talk earlier in the afternoon on growth, hypergrowth, and nearly losing everything. There are two tracks, marketing and technical, running from 9 until 5:30, and an after-party once it's done. If you work in-house at a retailer or brand, then your ticket is free, and you get both tracks, lunch, a swag bag and drinks after. If you're on the agency or tech side, use DCSummit50OFF for £50 off a standard ticket. Once the 10 are gone, we're full. Book here: https://lnkd.in/eecywa9J Is there a migration you're weighing up right now? #DigitalClubhouse #Replatforming #ecommerce #Manchester

Cas Majid liked thisCas Majid liked thisExercise is one of the best things that you can do for your mental health and that's why Padel Connect exists. To get people moving, laughing and meeting new people. So, if you want to come and play some fun (not hyper competitive) padel with no hidden sales agenda, join me and 17 others on October the 20th at Vida Del Padel in Lincoln. All abilities are welcome, so please don't be scared if you have never played before. I play with first timers and we just have a laugh (isn't that right, Melanie Saunders, Alex Wright and Yor Francavilla?!). How does the event run? 5pm - 5:20pm: Chatting with cool humans 5:20pm - 5:30pm: Panel with voices in the Community 5:30pm - 7pm: Padel. Play for 10 minutes at a time and then switch with people not playing. When you are not playing there is opportunity to chat to other players and nibble on some delicious food. You typically get 30 minutes of padel play time. Don't worry if you don't have a team, I put people in randomised teams based on their ability. Just sign up via the link in the comments. Tickets are capped at 40, so get yours now.
