Rachael Holtzberg reposted thisRachael Holtzberg reposted this💫 I’ve said this a couple of times on here but I am a trustee of Power 2 Connect , a brilliant charity helping people in Wandsworth get online by providing devices, connectivity and digital skills. I’ve seen first-hand what a difference something as simple as having a laptop - and knowing how to use it - can make. 🙏We’re looking for a few businesses who might like to partner with us, whether through funding, donating devices, volunteering or getting their teams involved. ⭐️If your company, or one you know, might be interested, please DM me or contact Emily at emily@powertoconnect.co.uk.⭐️ Even an introduction would mean a lot. Rachael Holtzberg shared this"The one where Ross and Rachael talk AI" ;-) ...Always a pleasure to share the stage with Ross Hodges !Rachael Holtzberg shared thisDay 1 at The AI Summit London 🇬🇧 Unframe’s Rachael Holtzberg joined Ross Hodges, Global Head of Emerging Technology at Cushman & Wakefield, for a conversation on one of the biggest challenges in enterprise AI: how to move from pilots to scalable adoption and prove ROI along the way. As an Unframe customer, Cushman & Wakefield is tackling this challenge inside one of the world’s largest commercial real estate services firms. Ross shared how their team is approaching enterprise AI adoption in a way that reduces risk, avoids chaos, and creates momentum beyond a single use case. Thank you Ross for sharing such a practical view from the front lines of enterprise AI!

Rachael Holtzberg posted thisI had the privilege of wrapping up last week with our annual strategy planning day at Power 2 Connect. At a time when AI is reshaping how we access jobs, services, and information, helping someone take their very first step online has never felt more important. Bridging the digital divide feels more urgent than ever. It’s one thing to talk about inclusion in theory, but it’s something else entirely to sit beside someone as they power on their very first laptop, or to guide them through logging onto the internet for the first time. That moment, when confusion turns into confidence, is powerful. A few reflections that stayed with me from this year’s session: 🔹 BUDGET SPOT ON! Our 2025 budget landed at £1 over forecast. Yes, £1. Many boardrooms would envy that level of precision. 🔹 IMPACT MULTIPLICATION We also spent time reflecting on the power of £1. Through a conservative estimate, we’ve seen that every £1 donated translates into £2.76 of real-world value, devices, connectivity, and skills delivered at a fraction of the typical cost. Not ROI in the traditional sense (which no doubt would be higher when you think about what this enables for the community), but something closer to impact multiplication, where every contribution goes further, and reaches more people than you might expect. 🔹 VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE One of the most meaningful outcomes, which caught me by surprise, has been the volunteer experience. By building a strong community around inclusion, we’ve seen powerful ripple effects. Volunteers are supporting others while also building confidence, helping each other navigate job searches, and finding a real sense of belonging. A reminder that when you invest in community, the returns often show up in ways you didn’t set out to engineer. 🔹 AI IS EVERYWHERE And then there’s AI. It’s everywhere, and it will play a big role in 2026 for us. Imagine navigating daily life without even the basics of digital access: no email, no online accounts. Now you need to book a GP appointment requiring an online form, access benefits through a digital portal, or try to apply for a job where every application is online and increasingly filtered by AI tools. For many, this isn’t a thought exercise; it’s their lived experience. This is why the work matters. In a world where many of us are celebrating how AI can help us write decks or build simple apps faster, it’s worth pausing to remember, some people are still learning how to turn on a computer. That perspective matters. #DigitalInclusion #AI #Community #Purpose #NonProfit #TechForGood

Rachael Holtzberg posted thisMy career pivot has been well received… but one question keeps coming up: “Aren’t you worried about Claude?” Honestly? No, I am not. If anything, Claude Code and tools like Cowork make it even clearer why I chose Unframe. Because they’re solving different problems. Your engineers should be focused on core, strategic work...the software that defines your company. -->𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁. Your teams need AI to handle everyday tasks and lightweight automation. -->𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹. But becoming truly AI-native? That’s something else entirely. It means tackling the cross-system, manual workflows that actually run your business; the ones that touch customers, revenue, compliance, and policy. That’s where the real complexity is. And that’s where the real risk is. You don’t solve that with generic tools. You need tailored AI solutions, delivered in days, not months, with the control and business context to operate safely. -->𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘄. These tools aren’t competing. Rachael Holtzberg shared thisThere are only a few moments in your career where you get the chance to make a true pivot, the kind that resets your trajectory and challenges you to think differently. After years focused on tech value creation in Private Equity, I’m excited to be stepping into something new: joining a VC-backed AI company at the forefront of this next wave. It feels like one of those moments that was always meant to happen. I first came across Larissa Schneider and the team at Unframe through my favourite podcast (thank you, Jon Krohn!), one of those conversations that gives you energy and a renewed sense of purpose. Larissa had vision and a clear USP that was counter to how others were addressing the market. Fast forward to today, and I’m incredibly grateful to now be part of the journey with Larissa Schneider, Shay Levi and others. A huge thank you to Jacquelyn Goldberg and Michael Arbisi for giving me the confidence to take this leap, and to the mentors who supported me along a path that was anything but straightforward (you know who you are!). I know how lucky I am to now be stepping into a role that I find genuinely energising. There are moments in your career where everything clicks, where the direction, the people, and the opportunity all align in a way that feels exciting and full of momentum. I've taken the time to get clear on what I really want to be building, but when the right opportunity comes along, you just do it. If you’re reading this and are curious about how to actually drive real returns from your AI efforts, drop me a message. I’d love to share why I’m so excited about Unframe. Looking forward to what’s ahead 🚀

Rachael Holtzberg shared thisFor those I’ve spoken to over the past few years, you’ll probably have heard my passion for Power 2 Connect first-hand. I’m incredibly proud to be both a volunteer and a trustee of this amazing charity. Volunteering at the drop in centres is a powerful reminder that many people still don’t have access to the tools and opportunities that many of us take for granted. What’s remarkable is how far a relatively small investment in people can go when it’s combined with the right support and belief in their potential. What Meg and the team achieve on a modest budget is truly inspiring, and the impact they have on the people they support is life changing. If you or your organisation would like to get involved, whether through volunteering, partnerships, or support, I’d love to hear from you. The last 12 months have made clear the combination of skills that generates real financial uplift in PE & beyond, through data and AI. Advances in context management, the raw power of the frontier labs, and novel model types like Jev have made the building much easier, but real value is still far from guaranteed. Getting from pilots to profit takes the whole set: debating opportunities, challenges and shifting markets with the CEO and CFO, working through legacy system constraints with the dev team, running the analytics that prove the ROI of each initiative, then having the software & AI capability to deliver robust, future-proof solutions. All done in a way that minimises friction and brings staff on the journey. It's a lot of work, and a lot of fun. Looking forward to plenty more. Unity Advisory P.S. While building a product for a client in the travel sector, I thought I'd have a play and mock myself up a salesperson profile. Gemini got it 80% right, though in reality I'd have fallen in by now. Rachael Holtzberg liked thisRachael Holtzberg liked thisI'm spending a lot more time in NYC and it was great to be back on campus at Columbia Business School for a conversation at the Deming Center for Operational Innovation and Excellence on how to build operational resilience in the AI era and the career paths that actually get you there. One theme I keep coming back to ... to build, scale, or transform a business you need operational experience across the full arc: building the product, selling it, retaining the customer. Each stage forces you to sit closer to the customer and see the business as they actually experience it. That experience used to be the only way you'd catch a disruption before it hit: a vendor slipping, a dependency nobody had mapped, a concentration risk buried three layers deep. Every disruption I've seen up close, from my days at GE to software, was a signal that existed somewhere in the system long before it became a problem; the gap was always in surfacing it fast enough to act. That gap is closing. Periodic alerts and after-the-fact reviews aren't enough anymore. Leaders need to know where they're vulnerable before it happens, how material it is and what to do about it, with AI increasingly doing the work of the fix itself. The best operators now are the ones pairing that hard-won operational judgment with systems that continuously monitor and surface what actually matters. And that's a career path worth building toward: moving through enough of the business to develop the judgment AI can't replace. Great to be flanked by Lauren Zujkowski, COO of Invisible Technologies, and Garrett van Ryzin, Distinguished Scientist at Uber, and thanks to Mattan Griffel and Gabriel Weintraub for hosting such a sharp conversation. And for the students in the audience - SecurityScorecard has built that exact AI operating system for protecting your supply chain (and we're hiring)!

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take a complex transformation programme, test whether the plan is deliverable, and turn it into clear milestones, dependencies and decisions. The immediate priority is to help lock in a robust transformation plan. From there, you’ll track delivery against it, spot risks early and give leaders a clear view of what needs attention. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across technology, operations and commercial initiatives, including emerging agentic AI use cases. The core requirement is excellent transformation planning: getting into the detail, challenging assumptions and driving the plan through delivery. Fantastic conference (hosted outdoors on a beach, but that's a different post!) that succeeded in bringing together leaders in retail who are taking meaningful steps forward to implement AI I'll share a couple of insights over the coming days, but one that resonated is something we've talked about at Unframe for a while. If you want A.I. projects to succeed, you need to think beyond efficiency as an outcome metric Using A.I. to do the same work faster does not translate to value creation The leaders making real inroads are focused on growth, spotting demand sooner, getting the right products to market while it matters, and winning more of the customer’s spend

As AI becomes more embedded in the systems shaping people’s lives, who builds technology matters. Women still make up a minority of the UK tech workforce. Estimates suggest around a quarter of tech roles are held by women, with even fewer in leadership positions. But the opportunity isn’t just about representation. It’s about perspective. At amicable, we’ve always believed technology should solve deeply human problems. Ending a relationship is one of the hardest transitions in life. Our tools use technology and AI, along with human support where needed, to help couples navigate separation with greater clarity, structure and support. Building this kind of technology requires empathy as much as engineering. It means designing systems that reduce conflict, guide difficult decisions and help people move forward. I see this every day in the brilliant women across product and our customer teams at amicable who are helping shape technology that genuinely supports families. And I hope we continue to see more women influencing the future of AI and technology. Because the best technology starts with understanding people. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInTech

As a team, we discussed this release from the NHS. Many of us have friends and relatives in the NHS, and we know that AI isn’t transforming their work – but we are desperately keen for it do so, as time given back to frontline medical staff to spend with patients is invaluable. So we have high hopes for this initiative, and so, we have some suggestions, and watch-outs; Licence deployment is 10% of the job, not 90% - The real job now is to drive meaningful usage. This means getting people to try things, learn from each other, share best practices across trusts, and scale up the adoption of what is really working for people. Outcomes – Time saved. Yes, but for what? There’s value in giving stretched staff working too many hours time back – but there are also other outcomes; task completion quality, error reduction, throughput, and increasing capacity for priority work. Someone needs to focus on these things, and start measuring them to help focus AI to where it can be most effective. We also note the use of the word 'could' in the time-savings. Safety – The NHS is committed to patient safety, of course, and there will no doubt be risk assessments and guidance in place – but have you really enabled your people to properly understand the tool, its limitations, and risks, as well as its opportunities? Have you shown them what good looks like, and how you have to work the tools to get quality output? Just one word wrong in a transcription of a medical discussion, or summary of a document, can dramatically alter the meaning or how it can be used. Hyperglycemia vs Hypoglycemia is one that easily comes to mind for a non medical professional. Does the team know when and why human-in-the-loop is so critical and when and how to rely on AI and when to not? Driving value from workplace productivity AI needs a concerted and widespread people-first effort. In the NHS, a large workforce, with a federated structure, this could take years to fully land. We think this requires a holistic approach; Execution – support to help domain experts make the most of the tech; Adoption – building communities of expertise and knowhow and sharing best practice; Education – practical hands-on learning that helps people find the limits of AI; and Governance – developing the right posture to ensure safety, but unlock potential. #AIforClinicians #MicrosoftCopilot #NHSInnovation #DigitalHealth #ClinicalSafety #ResponsibleAI #HealthcareLeadership #PeopleFirst https://lnkd.in/esC2grFQ

Scaling up: Regional readiness recommendations Regional scaleups across the UK are still held back by persistent funding gaps, with London attracting six times more investment than any other region. This article outlines how better coordination, expertise and access to capital can support high-growth companies outside the capital. It explains why investor readiness remains fragmented in the regions, why only 7% of seed-funded startups progress to Series A, and why founders outside London face barriers to accessing funding advice and active investor networks. It also sets out how joined-up local and national support can remove location as a limiting factor for scaleup success. #ScaleUps #RegionalInvestment #UKTech #VentureCapital #GrowthFunding

Day 2 of CyNam Tech Futures Summit held at Patch Gloucester. Second session with Saul Klein - well that was a different kind of talk from a VC, a thought provoking punk rock VC in my view. I’ve talked about how making profit, as in P&L, is not a bad thing. It enables you to do thing and you need it to be sustainable. To me, P&L develops into Purpose and Legacy, a deeper why and what you want to leave behind. There is this notion of being the next Silicon Valley, the next Palo Alto. He said why can be something “new”, based on the great innovations from the UK. We’ve lost the First World War (in digital and tech, aka the likes of Meta, Google, AWS etc) so don’t try to compete and reinvent. Win the Second World War where we take the advancements the UK is making in the likes of Photonics and Quantum and so on. Support and take them global. It was important to join the dots. To understand and be more aware of what is happening across the UK, where our R&D is world leading. Reid D. supported Gloucestershire’s ability to do this as shown with the government agency in Cheltenham and the connected supply chain and associated cyber businesses rapidly growing in the area. This will be further boosted by the Golden Valley development, along with more housing all supported by the council and its investments and decisions. The underlying message was that we do have great emerging opportunities that can lead the world, and help the UK be more sustainable through changing times. Where there are successful people, we need to put more back in. It will cost us but what is your “P&L” going to be?
