It's Franchise Mental Health Awareness Week and for me, this is about a movement towards taking action, not just talking about it being an important topic. This is a campaign that says: The people inside our networks deserve the same effort and attention we give to operations and growth. (...Because after all, they go hand in hand, thriving people will grow their businesses quicker, easier, more sustainably and with more enjoyment, but that's a post for another day 😉) This week I'll be sharing what I'm seeing, what the data is telling us, and what I think we can actually do about it. Today I’m introducing him to colleagues and connections on LinkedIn as he prepares to start his foray into the workplace. Dylan is about to complete his second year at college, studying computer science, psychology, and game design & development. After the summer he’ll be out there looking for opportunities to satisfy his curiosity and apply his creativity. For me, one of the greatest pleasures is looking around the room and seeing people who share the same passion and purpose – to make a genuine difference to the lives of older people and their families. We’re talking about where we’re going, the opportunities ahead and how we continue to build an even stronger Home Instead together. Simon Bishop liked thisSimon Bishop liked thisMy eye bags currently have eye bags …But I’m feeling proud (and relieved!) to have done my first bit of training delivery since the loss of my lovely Dad a few weeks ago. I’ve been really unsure how I’d start working again, particularly doing what I do, so in typical me fashion, decided the best way was to entirely throw myself in at the deep end! This morning I delivered ‘The QFP - Health and Welfare’ module for The BFA. We covered all-things related to physical health and mental wellbeing (the irony of discussing the second part right now isn’t lost on me!) And the learners all left with lots to think about and an action plan to follow up on for their network and team. I’m really proud to be a part of the QFP facilitation team and asked to deliver this module, helping to shape more ethical franchising across the UK and I’m delighted to see mental wellbeing feature in its very own module. There were so many insights from the course that I’ll chat about soon, but right now, I quite honestly need a nap!
