Mr. Henry Moakes, a Maltese Migrant who had connections with the Ajax Florianna Club in Malta, founded Green Gully in 1955. Henry arrived in Australia with only one suitcase. It was filled with playing strips.
This led to the first name of the club which was the Ajax Soccer Club. In 1966 the Club moved to the present location at Green Gully Reserve and a new name was appointed for the club called Green Gully Ajax. The club then pursued to build a small change room. In 1975 the past City of Keilor Council laid down two full size soccer grounds and built a large Dressing Room facility including toilets and showers etc.
The club moved on to build the Social Club Room to enable it to raise money through holding Bingo sessions and organised many other social activities. Our Soccer teams achieved great results and won many Honours:
 Champions - Division 2 in 1971
 Champions - Division 1 in 1976
State League Cup Winners in 1982, 1983 and 1987
Armstrong Cup Winners in 1978, 1983 and 1995

In 1982 another name change occurred with Ajax being scraped and the name becoming Green Gully Soccer Club Limited.
In 1984 we were promoted to the National Soccer League of Australia and after a three year stint we came back down to The Victorian Premier League.
Since then we have upgraded our soccer ground with floodlights, spectator cover and a Junior Club House. Many of our Victorian Premier League Home Games are played under lights, creating a great atmosphere to watch a game of soccer. To the future Green Gully will keep on moving forward. Plans are in the pipeline with the City of Brimbank for the club to undergo an extension of the clubhouse to provide a lounge area for passive recreation.
