Thinner kerf cuts will be spaced closer together giving a smoother curve. Wider cuts may give a curve with segments having sharper bends at the kerf cut.
Kerf Width
Wood Thickness
?
Thickness of remaining wood after kerf is cut.
The optimum Minimum Thickness of wood to obtain the curve cannot be calculated.
It depends on the type of wood, grain, dimensions etc. Test with scrap first to perfect.

Board starts off straight, curves, then continues straight again. Kerfs start and end at each end of curve. See diagrams
?
Curve is entire length of board. Kerfs start 1 space in from ends. See diagrams
?
Cut kerfs with a router and tapered bit to remove gaps.
Rout test piece with tapered bit at required depth to measure Kerf Width entry.
See Tapered Bit Kerf Width Calculator below.
?
Draw Curved Diagram with straight Facets between kerfs, instead of an even curve.
Thinner kerfs will shorten distance between cuts, and lessen faceting effect. See Diagram.

This calculator finds the spacing of the cuts (at entered dimensions), so when the piece is bent, the inside edges of each cut touch together to form the correct curve.
The optimum depth of the cut, and thus remaining minimum thickness of wood to obtain the curve cannot be calculated.
It depends on the type of wood, grain, dimensions etc. Test your dimensions and cut depth on pieces of scrap first, to perfect.
Geometrically, more, closer and thinner kerf cuts should give a smoother curve -- Less and wider cuts may give a curve with segments having sharper bends at the kerf cut.
Please let us know your experience re: optimal actual curves, using different wood, min thickness, kerf thickness etc, so we can try to improve this calculator.

If you're cutting blocks, concrete, stone or ANYTHING and there's DUST - DON'T TAKE THE RISK
Don't cut it, or cut it wet so there's NO DUST - Silicosis Sucks
And if you're cutting wet, wear a mask - there's dust in the spray mist too!

What do we think? - They're 2 different things:
A Meter is a device to measure things - like a Volt Meter or a Parking Meter
A Metre is about 3'-3~3/8"
Although diameter and perimeter as measurements - don't seem to fit very well
If the U.S. ever goes Metric, you'll be able to use a Meter to measure Meters - A Meter Meter
(And when we go back to the moon to Mars, let's go Metric, ay?)
