To the world, Chrishell Stause and G Flip were undoubtedbly smitten.

The whirlwind romance between the Selling Sunset alum and the Australian musician played out very publicly, with the couple waxing poetic about their love, packing on the PDA on the red carpet and permanently inking their vows from their unofficial wedding ceremony into their skin.

Indeed, their relationship, an insider told the Daily Mail, 'was the stuff of fairytales,' calling G Flip, who identifies as non-binary, 'the Prince Charming to Chrishell's Cinderella'.

'It was like G Flip swooped in and saved Chrishell from a life of heartbreak and pain,' they said. 'G Flip was the hero in this story, with Chrishell the trophy.'

But unlike most fairytales, theirs has now come to a sudden, tragic end.

A tearful Ms Stause, 45, announced in a shock Instagram video on Tuesday that her four-year romance with G Flip, 33 and real name Georgia Claire Flipo, was over.

The Selling Sunset star broke the news in an emotional Instagram video, telling fans that she doesn't yet 'have all the information or the reasons' for their break-up

'G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other,' Ms Stause said. 'That's not hard for me because I am in love with this person.'

She said she felt 'like a little bit of a failure' with two failed marriages to her name, referencing her 2021 divorce from her ex-husband, This Is Us star Justin Hartley.

'There's nothing you could say about me that would be worse than what I say to myself, so I just have to kind of heal and figure this out,' she said. 'It's hard. It's painful. I'm a lover girl. I swing big. I miss, or maybe I don't miss.'

Ms Stause called her years with G Flip 'amazing' and admitted she is now 'coming to terms with it being a different ending'.

She also seemed to suggest she was blindsided by the split, telling fans that she doesn't yet 'have all the information or the reasons' for it.

But according to our insider, problems had started brewing 'over a year ago,' with Ms Stause's alleged demanding behavior partly to blame.

'They began fighting a lot and it really wore G Flip out. G Flip didn't like the drama,' the insider said.

Their love story began nearly five years ago to the date. Sparks flew after a chance meeting at a Halloween party in Los Angeles, where they both coincidentally turned up dressed as skeletons.

'They had incredible chemistry right away, which took them both aback,' the insider said. 'There was an intense attraction even though Chrishell was over ten years older than G.'

At the time, each was spoken for.

Ms Stause, after finalizing her divorce from Hartley that year, was dating her Selling Sunset costar Jason Oppenheim. G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns, was seeing former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton.

But by the end of 2021, those flames had fizzled out and within months G Flip had started romancing Ms Stause.

Months of sacrifice... then blindsided: What really happened in Chrishell Stause and G Flip's split

'Once they started dating, things went fast,' said our source. 'The "I love yous" rolled out. They moved quickly. Chrishell knew how to keep G Flip entertained with plenty of hot sex and luxury vacations, it was a dream for both of them.'

They began sharing photos of each other on social media in March 2022, and in May, Stause confirmed the relationship during the season five reunion of real estate show Selling Sunset.

A year later, they said 'I do' in a non-legally binding wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, getting their vows tattooed shortly after.

'They were glowing, they were in love,' said the source. 'And they did not want to hide anything. They were out and proud, and they loved the positive feedback they got from that. They were the toast of the showbiz world.'

G Flip's infatuation was no secret. The singer gushed over Ms Stause, calling her 'hot AF' and casting her in their music video for Get Me Outta Here. A devoted Ms Stause, meanwhile, raved about G Flip's musical talent and repeatedly traveling more than 7,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean from LA to support her 'love' in Australia.

In addition to cheeky references to their sex life, the pair had been transparent about their fertility journey.

The reality star - who split from Oppenheim, 49, because of their differing views on children - said last April that she was 'actively trying' to grow their family. G Flip also spoke openly about the challenges of in vitro fertilization (IVF), telling People in September 2025 that it is a 'really sad' and 'very grim' process.

Despite renewing their vows in July that year, our insider said the relationship began to sour in the months that followed, when Ms Stause left Selling Sunset after nine seasons on the show.

'Chrishell likes to stay busy and she likes being a star, she thrives on it, and she is a very good celebrity, she works hard at it, and is smart about always looking her best,' the source said.

'I think after Chrishell left her show, she felt insecure, like, "What do I do now?"'

That transition seemingly caused tension between them.

'The strain started to show as Chrishell became demanding,' the source said. 'She is very ambitious. She wanted to be on a big reality TV show after Selling Sunset, she felt she deserved that, but it didn't materialize because Hollywood is tricky.'

In 2023, the now-exes said 'I do' in an non-legally binding wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, getting their vows tattooed shortly after

Our source claimed Ms Stause became clingy and 'wanted all of G Flip's time and attention', which caused tensions

G-Flip said they will 'always love' Ms Stause in a statement hours after she broke the news. Our insider added: 'There is so much love there, but they just could not find a balance'

Reportedly frustrated with her trajectory, Ms Stause kept busy with events.

'She needed the private car, stylist, red carpet, great photos, gift bag, she fell into the trap. She loved staying in the news,' the insider added.

One eyewitness caught a glimpse of such behavior at a Beverly Hills rooftop party hosted by Snapchat, claiming Ms Stause 'had a large entourage around her and was acting very A-list'.

'Very few people could get near her,' they said. 'She had big movie star energy.'

But according to our insider, this had started to grate on G Flip. The insider claimed Ms Stause became clingy and 'wanted all of G Flip's time and attention'.

'It just became all about Chrishell,' they said. 'She wanted to be catered to. But G Flip has their own career.'

Their 12-year age gap is said to have also been a factor in their downfall.

'G Flip is in her early 30s, and Chrishell is heading toward 50,' they said. 'An age difference like that can create insecurities even though Chrishell is still stunningly beautiful.'

Hours after Stause's tearful Instagram video announcing their split, G Flip posted a written statement of their own to Instagram: 'After 4+ years Chrishell and I are no longer together. I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply.

'My head & heart are feeling very heavy right now and I'm not able to talk but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.'

Ultimately love was just not enough to save them.

'There is so much love there, but they just could not find a balance,' our insider said. 'At the end of the day, they are both heartbroken because the fairytale is over. There is no happily ever after.'

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Ms Stause and G Flip for comment.
